[/blockquote][/justify]I can't say I knew where I was going, but I sure as hell wasn't lost. The streets of District 4 winded and turned and twisted and curved more than the fish swimming in the water. It was actually so bad that I wished I never came to this god dammed place. But I needed to find him. I owed him something. It had been so long since we last spoke. In an alleyway in District 8, we exchanged brief words before the whole goddamn task force was on me. I should've suspected that he had something planned. But I always guessed Clayburn never wanted to truly hurt me.
Cassius Clayburn. Peacekeeper of Higher Standing. He'd be the person I'd be dying to kill. The person who I'd dream of stabbing my serrated knife into his throat, pulling the jugular vein out with one solid motion. Graphic, yes. What I want? No. Cassius was friend. He was not enemy. Off limits for my killing spree. We go further back than most people would think. Why would a big officer be friendly with a huge criminal. Nobody ever knew. Well, then again, not many people knew we still communicated, even if the meetings ended with a few deaths, thanks to my trusty knife or pistol.
Said gun suddenly feels heavy under my jacket. I received it a while ago, before the incident. My medical team that dealt with me after the accident told me to not think about it, but what's the fun in that? It was a normal day in the office. I was a Peacekeeper, one of those filthy dogs I hate today. Something snapped in me though. And by the end of the day, there was a cleanup needed on aisle 'lobby'. Now that I think about it, there must've been a few days needed to clean up all that blood. Damn. You're welcome?
He could've killed me though. I locked eyes with Clayburn just before leaving, giving him one last look of happiness. Last one I gave for a long while. Other than with Bear of course. He must've wanted to come, to meet this guy who was such a huge part of my history, but not with his criminal habits being large too. I couldn't risk having Bear booked. So, I went alone. The huge office of the District Four Peacekeepers rose above me, sending a shadow across a lot of the District. I made my way to the door, pressing the button to activate the microphone. "Darren Marks. I'm here to see Mr. Cassius Clayburn."
I quickly fixed my nose. I had remaining supplies to build some fake skin, and enough animal hair to make a wig. It was something I learned in District 8, a great way to change myself. Darren Marks was from District 6, somebody I killed right before leaving. I stole his look, his name, his house, his everything. Probably his girlfriend when I get back too. When I look him, she'll easily be fooled. And hopefully the officers will be too.
The door opens, a buzzer going off. The words 'step through' begin to glow above the opening, obviously something built by District 3. I make my way through, and am immediately asked for fingerprints. Thank god for new technology. I quickly fumble in my pocket, pressing a button on the little remote in my pocket. The finger print machine starts beeping, accepting me. The radio jammer in my pocket vibrates slightly in victory. I grin. Then, I'm lead right to his office, like I'm VIP or something. They open the door, giving me a slight shove in.
"Hello Cass."
