Something was wrong. I had been walking the normal route from school to my house, which I pass through a park on the way. I was walking through the grassy area, smiling softly as I watched the little children play. And that was when I noticed the butterfly, beautiful, too many colors on it's wings to count. It passed through my eyesight, and I had the strange urge to follow it.

And that is how I ended up here, wherever here was. Distracted by the magnificent creature, I hadn't noticed anything out of the ordinary until just now. I pondered my location for a while, before I came to the shocking revelation of my whereabouts. This is where the low-lifes live!

The low-lifes. So many of these sickening creatures prowl the hallways at my school. I always want to vomit when their odor enters my nostrils, or I see the revolting clothes their parents allow them to live. These house were so tiny, so small I expected a whistling dwarf that happened to walk by shield his eyes in disgust.

I needed to get back home, where the distinguished, lovely people were. I see a figure ahead of me, and I don't think twice before calling out. "Hey! You! Do you have any idea how to get to Elliot Lane from this filthy, dirty neighborhood?" I don't care if it was offensive, as I speak nothing but the truth. I wait for a response, praying I'll get back home to watch my favorite program.

Ethan didn't know where he was, really. Something involving coming home to get something he left from his childhood home? He honestly didn't remember. All he knew was he was now standing outside a bar after being kicked out for feeling up the owner. Hey, it wasn't Ethan's fault the man was excessively flamboyant for a heterosexual! It was only natural to assume otherwise. And boy, would Ethan had enjoyed the otherwise.

Quite drunk and even more high, the boy snorted as a young innocent blonde boy strolled up to him, speaking to him in a demanding voice. Ethan exhaled s plume of smoke in the boy's face, hiccuped, and placed a hand on his shoulder. "I'll show you the way, bud. Don't you f*cking worry one hair off your ass. You're completely f*cking safe with this bastard."

With a smirk, he forced the boy to walk with him towards the bar across the street—the one he hadn't been kicked out of yet.

I tried hard to focus on the man, but all of the filth in the streets was distracting. Bottles of alcohol strewn everywhere, bits and pieces of cardboard that most likely belonged to some drunken man's house. These people are poor; couldn't they make some extra money by picking this trash up?

Before I knew it, a hand was on my shoulder with a tight grip. I flinched, scared of who this guy might be. He says something I can hardly make out due to the all of the unnecessary vulgar. All I could make out was something about him knowing the way. "Thank you so much. I never knew someone of your kind could pull through like this."

He began pulling me, so I followed, trying to ignore the pain in my shoulder. Before I knew it, I was outside of a bar. "Hey, I appreciate it, but I'm only 16. If my dad found out about this..." I stop mid sentence, afraid of what Dad actually would do. The guy seems set on entering though, so I reluctantly enter. It may be the only chance I have at going home.
