Life should be a little more adrenaline pumping. It should have more thunder. A least have some fun. But that wasn't easy to have in a life where you were abused as a kid. Fo no reason. Actually. His father actually had a great reason. He wanted to. So, Mason did what any teenager would do if they wanted fun. They snuck out of their house as quiet as possible. Mason ran to the docks in the storm. It was just raining hard. It wasn't going to thunder. He knew from working on these docks the types of weathers. He sat down on the ledge of a dock. It was bouncing around like a bunny.

This wasn't getting interesting. It was slightly boring. But he felt a sense of freedom. Like he couldn't be stopped by a pack of bulls. Mason didn't feel like he was on top of the world. The capitol was. And even though District 4 is what the other districts would call 'Careers' he hated the capitol ~~and their chocolate milk~~. And District 1 a bit. He means, they were as spoiled as the capitol children. But they still had to stand up with that sick game. When Mason heard pitter patter, like shoes walking on the dock. He was excited. Someone else snook out. Someone will show him how to have fun. And someone, will hopefully wanna be friends, with the abused boy from District 4.

Cold is all I feel. Cold feet, cold arms, cold heart. The heart frozen by the stupidity of one person. Leave. Thats the only though running through my head. I climb out of the bed and cross the room to the wide window, taller than myself. A soft breeze flows through the room as I lift the window open. My long brown hair flows out of my face, unusual for me. I almost step out, but realize my clothing: a sleeveless shirt and short shorts. I cross back to the drawer on the other side of the room to throw on a white tank top and knee length black athletic shorts. The window is promising escape once more and I hop out the second story window only to land in the slowly browning shrubs.

Now where should I go? My hand reaches to my pocket, where a black wristband appears. Zayne. That's the bracelet he gave me a monh before the accident. I slip the soft cloth onto my erist and smell his scent: vanilla and strawberries. Odd smells for a guy, but nontheless him. My legs begin moving towards the docks. Of course thats where I would be heading.

As I approach the wooden cliffs that overlook the water, more commonly known as docks. A boy is there. Great, someone to disturb my peace. May as well have some company while I can. He could be gone tomorrow. I set myself on the edge of the dock, feet dangling oer the edge into the water, sitting next to him.

"Issues. Im guessing you have them too? Thats a stupid question, I know. Everybody has issues. But what issues would make you sneak out of a warm house at night to hang out at one of my favorite hiding places? In plain sight." My mouth forms a slight smile as I stare into his face. [\size]

(OOC:I cant remember her colors right now.)

The pitter patter ended when a girl sat down. Mason thought her name was Hayley or something. She seemed like an average person. Normal brown hair. Normal face. Normal eyes. But looks aren't everything. Mason doubted her personality was anything close to normal. Which was good. District 4 needed more interesting people. She asked a good question. Probably the best Mason ever heard;

Mason had to think this over. There were a lot of reasons. He wanted freedom. Mason wanted to escape a night of bad dreams, probably involving him waking up, feeling like he was just abused. That feeling. Thank god not everyone had to feel that. Or, maybe, he thinks every night would be like those seven nights. Where his dad is drunk. And, he finally decides to hide. But whatever the answer was, it was close to, "My life could end like this." And he snapped. And his voice released. Making an odd feeling. He rarely talked. And talking to a stranger. That was something for Mason.

The girl was quite nice. Even though she only spoke forty-three words to Mason. "Well let me introduce myself," started Mason, "I'm Mason Poe. District 4. Of course. I have a sister Jackie. You might know her." He said those words to her slowly, on purpose. I mean, they had all night. A few words was not going to wreck it.

Mason Poe. Simple name, really. It wasnt much to think about. It was saying he had a sister is what did me in. Im pullee into the memory of them. Ai, Ren, Zayne. I feel a pull in my stomach, a sense of longing, for the people you knew would love you forever. Or at least the company of another human being with feelings that actually make sense.

"Umm, yeah. I kinda figured you were from here, dude." I take a deep breath. "And no, I dont know your sister." I linger on the word "sister." "I bet...I bet she's really nice." My mouth tries to muster a fake smile. "Just do me a favor, okay? Dont...dont lose her. Or forget to love her or hate her or fight or anything with her. Its just not worth it."

My eyes find my moist feet and lay claim there.

Hayley now seemed, sad. But tried to hide it. She seemed caught in what Mason said. About a sister. Mason didn't know exactly, but she might've had one. Or still does. But there's something wrong. Like she was injured seriously, or.. died. Like in the games. NO! Mason will not think of these things. He will wait for her to tell him if something bad happened. Actually, Mason didn't want to discuss this subject. Mason had nothing to say, nothing to do, but think about things. Or hear the crashing of the waves. Or smell the saltwater. He broke the awkward silence, "Beautiful weather we're having." Declared Mason. That was something strange to say. But no matter. He didn't care.[/font]
