When Paulie got up this morning, she felt unusually in a good mood. I jumped out of bed and got dressed in my favorite running outfit. A flowy yellow blouse, sweatpants, and my old running shoes. After bounding down my staircase rather sloppily, I tip-toed to the front door. My dad had gotten home the previous night from the capitol by the train, and I didn't want to disturb him. I pushed the door closed with a silent *click* letting me know that the door was shut. When I stepped outside, it was a bit chillier than usual. I just shrugged my shoulders and started to head out on the main street at an even pace. My footsteps made loud hits as I passed the pharmacies and store fronts. I slowed down to hop the fence lining the city as it came near. After the small jump, I was free. Dodging trees here and there I finally came to my little worn out path. Every morning at 5 A.M. I get up and run my route. It's just like a daily routine. After 30 minuets of that, I take a shower and then get ready for school. Even though I'm in the higher classes, they still let us have time to go out on the blacktop. I still like going out on the blacktop, while other girls my age sit at tables and study their medical books or gossip. I walk right past them and head for the track. I like to run until they call us in. So I have a good 10 minuets to run. Seeing the back of my house broke into my thoughts and I slowed down. I looked at my watch and it said 5:27 A.M. Right on time, I thought. I opened the screen door on the back of my house and stepped inside. There I saw Cameron eating his toast and my mom making his lunch for school."Hey mom." I said."Hello Paulie. Did you have a good run?"she asked."Like every other day!"I smiled. I went up the stairs, taking 3 at a time. I hopped in the shower and cleaned up. When I got out of the shower, I dressed into my horrid school uniform. A white dress shirt and a navy blue tie, along with a kahki skirt. I. Hate. Uniforms. I trugged down the stairs and sat on one of the bar stools. My mom set a plate of toast with some fruit on top. Along with my daily vitamins. My mom never lets me forget them. I gulped down my breakfast, thanked my mom , and headed out the door with my lunch. Glancing at my watch, I saw that it said 6:27. "Shoot! I'm gonna be late!" I exclaimed. The school doors were going to close in 3 minuets! I ran down the street and slipped through our school doors, just before they were completely shut. That was calling it close.
