Age: 15
Gender: Male
District/Area: District 12
Appearance:
Zigger has short black hair that sticks out at all angles. He likes to keep it short because he finds it is more manageable that way. He has seroius dark blue eyes. It is very rare for a smile to cross his lips. Though his cheeks could be far more gaunt, surprisingly, they aren't. They are a bit sunken in, but still round enough that he looks fairly healthy.Personality:
His fingers are stained with coal dust, and he always seems to have it smudged on his face somewhere. He is skinny, though he's not sure if that's from lack of food or if it's just the way he is. He has well-developed arm muscles from working in the mines. It is hard to tell this, though, because he tends to wear long-sleeved shirts, even in the summer. He never wears white, as he is afraid it will get stained by coal dust.
Zigger has always been quiet. He doesn't have many friends. He was always so serious in school that others were intimidated by him. They assumed he didn't talk to anyone because he thought he was better than them. This is not true.History:
He is impatient. He doesn't like to wait around for things to happen, so if something is taking too long, he ususally just does it himself. For example, if he's at the market buying food and it takes the cashier too long to get all his things together, Zigger will take the bag and start putting things in himself. People usually get fairly annoyed when he does this.
Zigger is not good at showing emotion. Some people would call him stolid. He can show emotion, but not very well or very often. It is usally quite hard to tell what he's feeling.
He is easily angered, but not well at showing it. If someone accidently trips him, he glares at them. Or he tries to, anyway. Mostly it just looks like he's staring blankly ahead.
He is very sympathetic of people who have lost their parents in mining accidents. Though he doesn't always have the right words, Zigger tries to comfort these people. He knows he would have someone to comfort him when his own parents died. But there was no one there for him.
Zigger was always very close to his parents. He was just like his father, very serious. His mother was always laughing and making jokes, and it was hard not to start smiling around her. He was an only child, so he never had to compete for attention. Even if he did have a sibling, competeing for attention just wasn't something he'd do.Codeword: odair
When Zigger was thirteen, he was pulled out of school along with a few other children. There had been a mining accident. Something had caved in, and now many people were trapped. They didn't know who was still alive and who had died.
He waited in a white room at the city hall. Surrounded by crying children and wives, he sat without betraying emotion. It was killing him inside. Were his parents alive? Or had they died in the acciedent?
Finally, the clicking of heels on the floor could be heard echoing through the halls. The woman that came in the door told Zigger that his parents were dead. He did not cry. He had known all along that they would not live, but he'd been afraid to tell himself so.
Since his parents death, Zigger has lived alone. He tried scavenging off the streets for food the first year after they died. He soon got tired of not knowing if he'd find enough food to get him through another day. When he was fourteen, he got a job in the mines. The person that hired him was a friend of his parents, and he wanted to help Zigger. He couldn't afford to support Zigger, so he figured the least he could do was get him a job. Zigger has been working in the mines ever since.
