Ginna Bluiss - District 12

Ginna's appearance is very striking when she's cleaned up (which is hardly ever, just for Reaping Day) but incredibly plain and unnoticeable when she's going about her day-to-day business. She's 5 foot, 4 inches tall, and is quite thin with only 98 pounds on her frame. Her hair is a dark brown and falls just to her shoulders, slightly curly, and frames her intriguing but guarded face. Her eyes are a deep and ever-changing grey-green.

Her smile is bright and infectious, but only appears on her face when the sun shines through the leaves in the trees on the other side of the fence (a place she's never ventured) on a wet Spring morning, reminding her of a kaleidoscope she saw once in a classroom. She feels its a secret magic and believes that only she can see the colors that shine there. She smiles at her magical secret and not much else.

She has unique clothing, but nothing too terribly flashy. She makes a lot of her own clothes from scraps of material she finds around the district, and her clothes are generally clean, simply because her mother is a laundress and has the supplies to keep their clothes clean.

She's not incredibly strong or smart, but trading her abilities as a laundress and seamstress in the Hob and among the well-to-do in District 12 have made her pretty capable with her hands and she can lift and carry about 90-100 pounds (the weight of some laundry baskets she's hauled).

Ginna, or Gin as those in the Hob know her, is pretty quiet and withdrawn. No one has truly seen her open up, or crack a joke, or smile. She's always been determined to never rely on anyone, only herself, and she has never questioned her lot in life. Life is how it is and she's meant to get through the day, go to sleep, get up, do it all again.

Her introverted and quiet nature have caused her to never form close bonds with anyone. She has no true friends and deep down, this hurts her. She feels alone a lot of the time, and yet when approached by strangers, even ones who mean her no harm, she maintains that guarded nature. This causes her to seem mean, anti-social, or even as lacking intelligence since she doesn't communicate with others. Her biggest flaw is her lack of empathy and social skills.

Her mother is the social butterfly, and in this respect, Ginna is an exact opposite. Her mother often berates her for being so withdrawn, but this pushes Ginna farther into her shell.

However... she's starting to have questions. Mainly ones surrounding her only family: her mother. (See the History section for more info).

Her one spark of personality comes from her sarcastic jokes. She usually says them too low to be heard and they are often taken the wrong way, but they amuse her. She also expresses herself through her diary, which she writes in religiously. Obtaining her the pencils and paper to write with is the one gift her mother seems considerate enough to ever give her.

Ginna has never known her father. He is a complete unknown to her, and her mother has never elaborated on the subject and honestly, Ginna's never bothered to ask. It's just the way things are. Ginna's mother, Syren, is a beautiful vixen of a woman. Unbeknownst to Ginna, Syren doesn't just do laundry and seamstress jobs around District 12... a lot of her income comes from jobs she performs without a stitch of clothing at all (if you catch my drift).

Ginna is coming to a point in her life where she starts to question and wonder why the men who come to pick up their clothing and uniforms from her mother tend to rush out if Ginna comes home, looking embarrassed or even afraid of being seen there. Ginna always assumed they felt it was unmanly to take care of their family's laundry needs, but she's beginning to suspect the real reason.

Ginna has performed passably in school, and plans on following her mother's tracks into the laundry and seamstress trade. Her grandmother started the trade. Her family name held a high reputation for hardworking and reliable seamstress and laundry services. However, since Syren took over after her parent's deaths, it's gone considerably downhill.

I'd like to base my character's appearance on actress Ginnifer Goodwin. She's not in the Face Claim thread!
