Othal Nightbird . District 11 (Complete)

4' 9" In height, Othal is one of the smallest of his age. He has short, shady blonde hair, with a small nose. Is 37Kg (81 pound) with soft, pastel blue eyes. His age is definite in his features, soft and innocent with a small scar down his cheek, caused by an accident helping his parents farm. He has fair eyebrows which do not connect. Othal takes after his mother more than he does his father.

His body is non-built and skinny, clothing are mostly second hand, or gifts. Being made for his older siblings and passed to him. He is pale toned. With no piercings, small hands with a seemingly fragile frame.

Othal can be dubbed as quite feminine with his looks, having no clear male features in him. He has soft. Delicate lips with a small chin, his neck delicate. He has very feminine shoulders. Showing no signs of broadness at all. His eyes are almond shaped and small, his eyebrows surpassing his eyes.

The boy has little freckles. Most being on his arms which he covers up whenever he can. He is often seen with a backpack carrying 2-4 books and a small blade for protection, though rarely used.

Othal can also be seen with a cut of white cloth wrapped around his wrist, a sign of respect for his grandfather.

Timid and introverted. Othal prefers to spend time with himself or animals rather with other people. He is very skilled hunter but does not show it. He is very polite and sweet to people that he knows, and shy to people he doesn't. He can be very helpful when need be. And is not good at coping by himself.

Othal has several flaws. One main problem being he trusts too easily. His size does not help in anyway either. Restricting him from climbing and jumping high. Though this can be an advantage at some times in areas of ducking and dodging. Another flaw of Othal's is his inability to stand up for himself. Not being trained in combat nor able to let insults fly over him. The boy is fairly weak, preferring small stuff and light stuff that he can hold in one hand.


Othal prefers reading instead of social contact, often seen with a book. He loves stormy weather and clouds, he rarely smiles. Though is normally happy.


He is very frigid and paranoid in new environments, and takes a while to adapt despite his curiosity. Othal likes to remain seen but not heard, feeling safer with another person, hostile or not. Although his shyness restricts him from opening up. Othal does not like surprises and/or anticipation. As normally they have negative outcomes with the boy.

His name is pronounced O-faal. Derived from Othello which mean's "Wealth" Mainly for his bounty of happiness as a baby.

The boy also matures a substantial level around his sister Eileen Nightbird, since her age makes him feel like he should protect and be a good role model to her instead of hiding away and becoming all shy. So he becomes considerably more bold and brave than normal

Othal comes from a poor back round. Most of his family being from district 11 or 10. He also has a lot of experience in a farm, tending to animals and growing crops for the capitol.

His parents are kind and supportive of him, yet fear greatly he will be picked for the reaping, his family have been very self sufficient. Managing to just feed themselves. Othal has one sibling, a sister called Eileen. Othal's parents try to aid them both in anyway possible, but do not train them.

Othal's childhood was not very interesting, the "big thing" in it was when he was nine he received a small scar across his cheek from falling and slicing it open on a tree branch. He was a very curious boy, wanting to know the answer to everything and why stuff worked. He would also help his family with farming and agricultural work.

Othal has great respect for his grandfather, who had hunted game for his family before he passed away, the elderly man had received a cut to the wrist which lead to a bleed out giving insufficient medical supplies. His family in desperation wrapped a cut of cloth around his wrist but it could not stem the bleeding. And as a sign of respect he would replicate that action though not injured.

He has lost both older siblings, both dying of disease rather than the games, so he was left the oldest with his sister Eileen being 5 years younger than him. Him being 6 when his siblings perished.

His grandparents moved from District 10 to 11 during a rebellion. Leaving their child with his dad's sister, then they had another child in District 11. Who eventually married and had Othal with 3 others, this explaining how his family moved. Though both his grandparents are dead with the majority of the Nightbird family, it only consists of 6 members now.

The boy also met a girl aged 10, named Amity Strekker to whom he is very close and defensive over, several cases have arisen where Othal has shown an uncharacteristic attitude in defending her which confuses him greatly, as he is normally relatively shy and quiet around everyone else.

This is my first bio, please excuse it's really poor paragraph structure and jumpy and just plain ugh. Othal is awesome though. Well, apparently.
