Appearance:

Avaenoir has a petite, lithe frame. Unlike most residents of District 12, she has pale skin instead of olive because she usually spends all day indoors. She has wavy, dark brown hair that falls to her waist, which she keeps in a fishbone braid. Noir has heterochromia, and as a result one of her eyes is gray and the other is onyx. People describe her as pretty in a not-so-obvious kind of way.

She has a straight nose and her eyebrows are on the thicker side, but in all it gives her a youthful look. She has full lips. Her teeth are slightly larger than other people's, but they are straight and in no way give her a buck-toothed appearance. She has small feet and hands, but due to her harsh living conditions, her hands are rough and her fingernails are trimmed slightly too short.

She wears mostly plain button-down shirts tucked into shorts, long socks and beat-up leather boots. Her clothes are old and she has to mend them regularly. Her only nice dress is a white one which she uses on reaping day.

Personality:

Avaenoir is bright and has common sense, but she is sometimes a little too trusting. She's bad at school subjects that have to do with numbers. She is very shy when you first meet her, so people often take it the wrong way and say that she's cold instead.

With people she likes, Noir can be very funny. She's caring, considerate and slow to anger, but she isn't very forgiving to those who have hurt her. When someone mistreats her, she thinks about how to get even. In the end, she abandons her plans for revenge and decides to just ignore the person until he or she apologizes.

Noir isn't very responsible. She's forgetful and somewhat clumsy, but she makes up for her flaws by being extremely passionate. Once she has her heart set on something, she never gives up.

History:

Noir comes from a broken family. She has a mother and an older brother, but her father was killed in a mine accident when she was seven years old. He left twin daggers for her, which she keeps with her at all times. The daggers were passed down in their family for five generations and were usually given to the sons, but for some reason, her father chose to leave them for her instead of her brother.

Her brother works in the coal mines. Avaenoir stays indoors during the day, but at night she goes out when everyone is asleep. She sets up small targets for herself and practices throwing her daggers. After years of practice, she managed to gain unmatched skill and accuracy with her daggers, yet she never goes out to hunt for fear of being caught. She often feels guilty when the family doesn't have enough to eat, thinking to herself "If i wasn't so scared to go hunt for game, we wouldn't be suffering like this."

Noir didn't have a very good childhood, because she shut herself off from other people after the death of her dad, who she loved very much. She depended heavily on her brother during those years. Her greatest fear was that he, like their father, would die in the mines or one of them would get picked during the reaping.
