Name: Rayne Buxton
Age: 18
Gender: Male
District/Area: District 10
Appearance:
If you happen to see Rayne ride into town on occasion the first thing you’ll take note of is those long dirty blonde locks. Next your eyes will focus in on that scruffy unshaven face that attempts to conceal his rugged yet handsome features and those blue eyes. Once dismounted from his horse you’ll note his stature, standing at five foot and nine inches tall puts him right about average height with the other young men in town.Personality:
Rayne’s rather ordinary physique holds his 140lbs well with enough muscle tone to complete most ranch duties with ease, whether shoveling hay with a pitchfork all day or lassoing stray cattle from his saddle. As he makes his way into the livery stable or general store you will also become aware of a slight limp in his step, the result of a broken leg he suffered when he was just a youngster.
When young Mister Buxton does travel into town it is seen as a rather rare occasion. Rayne feels more comfortable out on the range with the livestock then around herds of town folk. Not that he is unfriendly, but it just doesn’t come naturally to him to chit chat with every stranger on Main Street. He’ll get his business dealt with quickly, having a strong work ethic and move on. Though infrequent, when in town with some of the other ranch hands, Buxton has been known to loosen up and fraternize with some of the locals, a safety in numbers sort of thing with him which sets him at ease a bit.History:
The middle child of five Rayne always struggled within the family to find his place. With two older brothers and two younger sisters the Buxton house always seemed to be in chaos of sorts. Rayne became very protective of his sisters as his brothers were of him. Through that experience growing up he gained quite an inflexible approach when anyone gave the family trouble. Though typically level headed such circumstances often lead him into rash decisions.
Though not known as a live wire or trouble maker, Rayne does have a handful of close friends and together they have seen their fair share of mischief over the years. This spring having turned 18, the young mister Buxton has embarked on a more serious tone with taking on more work related responsibilities. Often finding it difficult at times to make that total transformation from child to adult, still Rayne is pushing ahead as best he can enjoying his days around the ranch more and more.
Rayne Buxton was born on an insignificant farm that had been in his family for years. Nothing sizeable or special just a cozy little spread that one could raise its youngins proper on. The Buxton brood loved to play in the old weathered barn, play hide and seek in the corn fields and swim in the pond during the hot summer months. The farm was as much a part of the family as the inhabitants. Growing up on it was a good life for Rayne where from an early age he learned to care for the animals as well as repair items around the homestead.Codeword: oDair
Both his father and granddad did their part in teaching the boys, as well as the girls, the required chores that needed to be tended to on a daily basis. The family working together kept them safe and fed which was no small task for such a large household. Rayne found himself right smack in the middle of four siblings, the eldest brother being three years his senior and the second just over a year older. The two sisters are twins that were born three years after Rayne. So as of this writing the two sisters are fifteen making Rayne eighteen. The first born is twenty-one and the second respectively nineteen.
Early on the kids were taught at home before moving over to the District run school house. Rayne was an above average student until he had the accident with the horse and broke his leg. His mom taught him at home for a few months before he could return to the classroom. During that time he fell behind in some of his studies and toward the end lost interest in school work spending more time working on the farm, the result being he just barely passed his final exams to complete school. Since school ended last summer for Rayne he has been working with his brothers on a large ranch a few miles north of the Buxton farm. The pay keeps some scraps on the table and Rayne is able to ply his natural talent working with horses. Though most times that only entails tending their stables applying fresh bending as well as filling feed and water troughs. He has been on handful of cattle drives and hopes to do more of it in the near future, plus the wage for an outright cowboy is more desirable than stable boy.
