Poppy White, District Eleven

Poppy has quite tanned skin, since she spends most of her time outside. Her hair long and dark brown with a few light light brown/ blonde highlights, which can be mistaken for dark blonde. It's usually pulled back in a ponytail, but when her older brothers and sister are home, they will always style it in different ways for her. Poppy's eyes are a striking green. Her build is tall, but she is underweight.

Poppy has long limbs, and is sometimes nicknamed the Flying Monkey of District Eleven. She is quite good at climbing, and her frame helps with this. Poppy has a small smile and her hands are dainty. However, she is quite good at grasping things. Poppy is very flexible, and her long legs help her get high up in trees.

Poppy is very quiet and shy, however the term 'seen but not heard' doesn't apply to her. She is very quick and light on her feet. However, she is very sweet, but that demeanor will quickly be wiped away when she is hunting fruit. Her skills lie with her knife and setting net traps. Poppy is known to not say much, but when she does, it usually involves something to remember. Like an inspirational phrase.

Poppy has some of her mothers traits, by knowing how to survive when one needs to. She understands what can be eaten, where to make fires and how to find water. Poppy is quite intelligent, and can figure out problems. She gets her intelligence from her father. Poppy is very useful when harvesting.

Poppy's flaws include having a very short attention span. Where some people can listen to lectures for an hour or two, she longs to be outside, climbing trees and searching for new berries or plants. She likes sketching too. Poppy doesn't like the cold weather, and can't climb or run in these conditions. She feels vulnerable when she can't escape quickly. Poppy is very insecure.

Poppy was born and raised in District 11, along with her family. Her mother died from pneumonia, and her father is busy working in the fields. Of these circumstances, her brothers and sister raised her. Her sister (Kava) works in the apothecary, and taught Poppy how to decipher the dangerous plants from the safe ones. Her brothers (Shanin, Caelum and Alois), all work in the fields, looking after the crops.

Poppy's mother died when she was 10, and her father drifted away from his children, isolating them from himself, leaving them to raise themselves. Poppy had become quieter and a bit from fragile from the past happy version of Poppy. Her family fell apart, and they struggled for food for weeks. Until they got their heads back on track, a few more days and they would have starved. No food came in.

When Poppy started being Reaped, her siblings banned her from taking extra. Being the quiet girl she is, she said she wouldn't, but always would, wanting to make her family as supported as she could. At the age of fourteen, Poppy started scowering for fruit. She would look for abandoned fields or meadows and use her tree-skills to hunt produce.
