Emerald Enostrib, D12, {Finished}

Emerald Enostrib is just like anyone from District 12; skinny, bony, frail and fragile looking. The boy has short, ruffed-up brown hair that sits on his head. His eyes are just like his name, a deep emerald color. His forehead is huge, a major flaw to Emerald. His eyebrows are very thin and dirt brown. Emerald's eyelashes can't be seen, and they are a bit of a brownish tannish color. He is a bit pale, but not that much. Emerald's nose is flattish and normal-looking, and his lips are pink. Em's face is round and skinny.

Emerald's neck is medium sized and is thin, and is in line with his narrow shoulders. His arms, like most of his body, are skinny, but his hands are big and scratched. Being from District 12, he was so skinny that you can practically see his ribs. Being an orphan and all, he's not really all that healthy.

Emerald's legs are long and bruised and his feet are normal. He stands at 5"7, which makes him normal height. As you can see, Emerald is happy with his body, because he has a lot to complain abou and complaining just happens to be Em's favorite hobby.

This boy is a mature brat. How is that even possible, you ask? It's possible. With Emerald J. Enostrib, you'll be surprised. Emerald thinks that he has a girl's name, and likes to brag about it. He likes to be called 'Em', and people are confused because 'Em' sounds closer to a girl's name than 'Emerald' does. But this is Emerald Enostrib we are talking about. Once he wants something, be insists on it until he gets it.

Emerald is a very mature person. When he started taking care of Topaz at the age of six (read history), he became very close to her, and he grew to think of her of a little sister. So, Emerald became more mature and a lot smarter. His temper is very good, and he isn't angered easily. When he is, it must be something very bad, and nobody really knows what 'bad' means in Emerald's dictionary. He's a very interesting boy, and he would do anything for Topaz even if it means volunteering as tribute for the Games to be with her.

Em is also a brat. He's annoying, and often sarcastic and has a horrible sense of humor. Emerald complains about such small things, like his forehead and his name. He is often caught mumbling to himself about things that no one in the District would dare say. He is also jealous of the few rich people in the District.

The boy is curious. He likes to study things, especially coal. He is interesting in all kinds of rocks and minerals, and is glad he was named after a gem. Well, that's kind of what you would expect from someone from the coal mining district.

This boy was born Emerald Joseph Enostrib to Reina Enostrib and Ace Enostrib as an only child. At the age of two, Reina was killed in public for stealing food from the market. Depressed and driven mad by her death, Ace Enostrib committed suicide. This left Emerald an orphan, and he was sent to the orphanage.

At the orphanage, the people were not kind. Punishments were harsh, ranging from being turned into an Avox to being killed. But Emerald was a good child, and he kept to himself. Nobody seemed to bother him. He ate his food and did what he was told to do. Emerald was raised to keep his mouth shut.
At the age of five, Emerald met Topaz (played by Sarella) who was only two years old. Immediately, Emerald started taking care of her bit by bit. Giving her some of his food. Singing her to sleep. This went on for more a couple of years. And It's still going.

When Emerald turned 12, he kept to himself more. He would have short conversations with Topaz, but in such whispers that half of the conversation were "What?"s. In one, Emerald said, "Just because we are orphans, doesn't mean we can't be reaped."

And he sticks to those words.

He wishes they weren't true.
