District/Area: District 11
Appearance:
Laura has long, dark brown wavy hair. Her skin is tanned, she is quite thin and a tad under average height for her age. Her eyes are a dark brown, which conceals emotion in that part of her face. She has a small scar on her leg, which is quite noticeable most of the time. She is quite weak due to her being in one of the poorer districts of Panem and not getting enough food.Personality:
Most of the time Laura will wear a plain tank top, some light three quarter length trousers, a flexible jacket and some sandals. Her clothing is not very elaborate but her reaping outfit is quite nice. For the reaping she wears a light dress, the colour black, which is plain, an ordinary hairband and her sandals, as het family cannot afford more shoes. Her hair is usually tied up in a common ponytail to keep her hair out of the way while she helps harvest and do other.jobs, but on the reaping she leaves her hair down, loosely. When she goes to bed she changes into any old clothes that haven't been worn in months.
Laura is a kind girl, but is short tempered. Even the slightest thing can irritate her. She has a good sense of humour and enjoys pulling pranks on people occasionally. She enjoys being outdoors and doing jobs, as she enjoys being responsible for things. She has four younger siblings so she has to act mature a lot of the time, and care for them when her parents are unable to.History:
Laura is quite intelligent and is good at making witty remarks. She is good in school and listens carefully to the things she is taught. She sticks to herself at school, doesn't socialize with the other students much. She would rather plan the things she would do once she arrived home. Laura likes to be organised and to have a proper schedule. She hates change and surprises.
When she does socialize, however, Laura finds it difficult to keep a conversation going for long. If Laura has nothing to do, she will most likely plan a new to-do-list in her mind. Laura never cries in public. She will hold it in, but the minute she is in a room, alone, she will sob a little bit. She tries to hide her feelings, and most of the time is successful. Laura's life is hard, but she manages to live with it.
When Laura was born, it was a bad day. Her parents were exhausted, and now they had another mouth to feed. They felt too tired to even put that small bottle into the baby's mouth and hold it for a few minutes. They didn't even know what to name her. The man, who was named William's mother visited after about half an hour. She feed the baby, and insisted they named her. So they named her Laura, after William's sister, who died of hunger aged 7.Codeword: oDair
Laura grew up helping around the house. She loved to do even the smallest of tasks, like helping to carry the laundry to her mother, while she was pregnant with another child to arrive. When Laura became eleven she began to help harvest the crops. Then she lost all interest in getting friends. Work was the fun for her, not playing catch with a small ball or tag. The other children deemed her boring, the way she would daydream or hide her expressions.
Aged fifteen, she is teased for fussing over work and her siblings. There is no interest to her in pretending to be from the capitol, pretending she is rich and has luxuries when she doesn't. Laura's parents try to convince her to make friends, but she would rather help. She knows what's good for her, and pretending to be rich definitely isn't.
