Pip Dashweed, District 10

Pip is tan with brown hair that is about two inches long. He has a soft, kind face with bushy eyebrows and he has the pretty type of brown eyes. He has a delicately curving nose and small dimples beneath the corners of his mouth.

Pip is tall and skinny (5'6'') and he has very long, muscular legs. He has an okay body, his abdominal muscles are defined but not amazing and he can hold his own and his biceps are okay. His best muscles are in his legs and he is a very strong runner.

Pip is sorta popular at school, especially with girls. Many girls will gossip about him and he thinks that they aren't talking about him when they are. Pip is a sucker for brown hair and brown eyed girls. He has been told that he was cute by many different girls on several occasions, but he isn't confident enough to believe them. Yes he is good looking though. He is very caring and is always the nice guy who wants to treat her right and make sure that nothing hurts her. Pip has a way with words and he can talk to girls, but he sometimes gets pretty shy.

Pip loves the outdoors and especially animals, he likes to climb trees and to ask his mom if he can keep stray, which is almost never a yes... He is positive compared to most people in poorer districts and he is up for what it takes to help support him and his mom.

However, Pip is very gullible and he can be pranked and scared very easily. Also he is deathly afraid of scorpions and he has a small case of claustrophobia.

Pip had a great dad and before he died, his family was very successful and they got by with only some troubles. It was a good thing that Pip was an only child because then there was less of a struggle. His dad (David) and mom (Maria) had in mind to only have one child and hope that he or she was never reaped. Many families called the Dashweed's the "Lucky Dash's" (because only one person in all of their family was ever reaped) but ever since
Pip's dad died, nothing was the same again.

When Pip was 11, his dad was caught collecting berries in the woods beyond the boundary and he was executed. Many families were outraged. Pip's mom went into a period of depression much like Katniss Everdeen's mother. In this bad time, Pip learned many things on his own and traded some family belongings for seeds and started to learn a lot about plant lore. Things finally started to look back up.

The best memories Pip has are from summers when his dad would take him to a lake and teach him to catch catfish. Pip caught on to this really fast and he has able to go into woods and find a stream that was in the districts boundary. Every Friday is gathering day for him. As he walks home he takes a detour into the woods and gathers, plants, berries, roots and tubers. After he finishes with the plants, he makes sure to catch catfish. The catfish are a favorite trade for some people and he gets clothes from trading catfish.
