Dillon, Carson Lea // District 12 (FINISHED!!)

Carson is most definitely a girl you would call naturally beautiful. She was a seam child, but had merchant light hair, and seam eyes. Raised in the seam left her rough around the edges, scarred up from all of the times that she'd sneak out of the fence to pick berries for the black market. She was obviously skinny, and quite short for a girl of her age. Barely scraping 5"4', no one looked up to her.

Her blond locks curled. The colour was almost that of honey, and yet still too light. She was quite tan from the constant work outside with her father and brother, and she always gave you an intuitive look, no matter who you were.

When you think of Carson, you think of a frightening angel that had descended from the heavens above. Her appearance of full lips, light eyes, and blond curls distract people from the truth of her beauty. Her appearance had little to do with how she was truly beautiful, but they sure did enhance it a bit. Her long graceful fingers like to play at her hair, even though they may be rough around the nails. She loves playing in the small meadow out by her little house, albeit it's full of pricker bushes, so she's almost always plucking at her legs, trying to pull small thorns out of them.

Carson is a bright individual. With the berries she picks from the forest she's not allowed into, and her amazing skill at stitching (whether it be human skin or leathers of an animal, or just plain cotton fabric) she has learned how to make small amounts of money at The Hob. With Greasy Sae shelling out soup for small leather pieces her brother has hunted and skinned for, Carson is readily accepting of the next challenge.

With only one well known fear, The Games, Carson is seen as a brave individual. Whereas she fears more than most people could ever imagine. From spiders to losing her soon eighteen year old brother to a mining accident. Alas, when there isn't anything else she can do, she hopes. She shows no fear to outsiders, though, for fear that they'll instantly use them against her; probably from watching too many games, where they'll become allies, and then one night, the weaker die.

Carson is also seen as bubbly. Always full of energy and quite talkative, she knows how to strew her way through any conversation she's thrown. She can throw her true personality out the window at any given moment and easily grasp onto some fake alibi, easily gliding into the motions of what that person would do, what they'd say, how they'd react to certain situations.

Her mother had always sworn to not have children, to not bring them into the fear that could illude her children for most of their lives. But first came Peyton, her eldest son, and then there was Carson, her first, and only, daughter.

And then regrettably came the moment where Carson's mother had to send both Peyton and Carson to the reaping, to see which two children would get sown. There was always a large light of hope that it wouldn't be her children; there were over one hundred other children in the entire district to choose from. And luckily, since then, neither of her children have been chosen.

"Mom! I'm going out to get berries!" Carson had called to her mother one day; walking out the door. Earlier, she had pulled on her strongest hiking boots, that were worn, and her long pants; too dark for a hot day like this, but the only ones that weren't worn at the knees. She looked at the fence and listened for a moment, hearing nothing. Not the ever harmonious buzz of a lit fence. This fence was dormant, and had been for years. She easily slipped through the wires and stepped her way quickly out of the moor-like land into the thick woods that covered the rest of the wilds. District thirteen was somewhere out in these wilds, destroyed. Carson's only thoughts revolved around the decrepit district as she monotonously picked berries; grabbing the ripest ones, leaving the others to ripen more.

Such an easy job, one that anyone can do, and one that she had been doing since she was a small child with her father by her side. Now her father was working in the mines, hoping to make money for her family. Her name had been put in more than a few times this year, to help her family out with food and such. She looked around, trying to see if there were any berry bushes she had missed on her quick walk through.

She nodded at her good work and walked back to the dead fence, and then to the Hob, where she'd sell her berries and set up her stand to sew peoples broken things. Including broken selves.

That was how it went for three years...

Her brother was now on the bridge of seventeen to eighteen, and he was also on the brink of not being able to be chosen for the games anymore; something that Carson was very jealous of. She had decided not to stray into the woods today, the alarming sounds of something flying above had scared her enough. She, being fifteen, had enough to do in the Hob. She had trained herself to be able to pull almost anything out of another persons skin and then sew it up; making a perfect practice doctor. With her immense knowledge on plants and berries, she made a perfect medical practitioner, and was always willing to help people. More and more men had been coming in from the mines; with large chunks of rock in their arms and the likes. This was now how her days went. She'd go and heal people.

And now we're at the present.
