Appearance:
Like any other boy that had been slinging haybales since he was old enough to walk, Kevin grew into a prototypical athlete's body frame. Taller than average at 6' 2", he was a little lanky and akward in the earlier years, before finally filling out to a full 185 pounds around age 16. He wears his blonde hair very short, never longer than a half inch, which gives it the appearance of being darker than it really is. Working outdoors with the cattle, he has developed quite the farmer's tan, a beautiful tint of bronze darkening his arms and face. His upper body shows the more regular everyday tan, and his legs sport an absense of color so white, one glimpse of them and you'll be blind for a week. The most distinguishing feature Kevin adorns is his nose, which comes to a rather sharp circular point at the end.Personality:
As far as the boys sense of fashion and style... well he has none. The daily attire consists of a plain Tee shirt and a pair of jeans that should have been retired last season. On rare special occasions though, Kevin can be seen wearing a very formal, and more importantly CLEAN Tee shirt, possibly even a polo, and a pair of slightly less faded, less holey jeans that almost look respectable. Either way, you're getting the muck covered work boots. It was his only option in his entire shoe arsenal. His hair was never really groomed, since it wasn't long enough to style, but he has been known to wear a rather festive straw of hay or two in his do from time to time.
Growing up with a father who is the very epitomy of John Wayne, Kevin has adopted a slow, laid back, country outlook on life. Though he isn't exactly the eternal ray of sunshine, he's really not much of a glass half empty type either. More of an "It aint empty yet, so we'll be just fine" type outlook on life. All around, Kevin is a very level person. He's not exactly excitable or charismatic, but he's not a depressing stick in the mud either. He's a pretty patient person, but if you push the right button, you'll set him off none the less.History:
In a social setting, Kevin isn't the most popular kid in school by any means, though he receives his fair share of flirty winks and giggles. You could define him as passive; he prefers to let others start a conversation as opposed to doing so himself. Get him interested though and he'll ramble on more than any of the other giddy school girls around.
He's average on the intelligence front. He's not the sharpest tool in the shed, but he is in the shed, not outside in the box with the rocks. He's got an uncanny knack for solving real world problems, such as fixing a tractor that wont go, or diagnosing and patching up the hole in the fence that the cattle keeps breaking through.
The Kinsler family has led a pretty uneventful and average life. Kevin is the oldest of the three kids, the only one old enough to qualify for the reaping. He is also the only boy, with two wonderfully annoying sisters, aged 10 and 11. His parents were trying for a second boy to help out around their farm, but after Elyse's display of terrible twodom, and Kaitlyn's emergence as child three, they decided to give up on the 2nd boy dream while they still had their sanity.Codeword: odair
The family of five lives on a cattle ranch, one of the many scattered throughout district ten. They don't do incredibly well for themselves, but they do well enough to keep from having to take tesserae as often as possible. Though, Kevin has taken it twice since he's become eligible to do so.
Kevins father is what you would deem a workoholic, hitting the fields as soon as the sun casts down it's first ray of light, and not coming back home until well after the sun has disappeared in the western skies. His mother wakes up a sane individual, but she is rather shaky at best, and any kind of bad happenings will send her right into a fit of craziness. It's something the family has learned how to cope with. Elyse does most of the outdoor duties, collecting the milk, and the eggs from the 9 or so chickens they have in the coop. Being the youngest, Kaitlyns duties are more of the inside the house variety, keeping things tidy, mother sane, and looking after the barn cats that keep the mice, snakes, and grasshoppers at bay.
