Age: 16
Gender: Female
District/Area: District 11
Appearance:
Tanned and quite orangey like sunny kisses but not deep tanned, gray green eyes that are like tourmaline gems, obsidian snobbish brows, long black wavy hair, contoured cheek bones, and a pair of heart shaped lips that are colored pearly pink. She is quite small with a height of 5”3” and a bit underweight due to lack of food even though district 11 is all about agriculture.Personality:
She always tie her hair up, she hates it when her hair gets in her way. She wears jacket or long sleeve checkered. She always wears jeans and running shoes, sometimes tennis sometimes boots. Since it’s very sunny, it’s the reason why she wears jacket or sleeves but usually she wears t-shirt.
She has slight freckles, cutely sprinkled above her nose. But she hates the sun. Especially it’s hot.
She hates dresses and she doesn’t wear one except during reaping. Her arms and legs are strong, good for running and defense. She doesn’t care much of how she looks because what’s to be conscious of? They live in a district that is poor so why would anyone bother to dress elegantly and besides no one can afford. She thinks that the capitol dresses weirdly, something that looks like a clown.
She hates ribbons and ruffles. Every reaping, her grandma would let her wear flowery dresses that are bubble sleeved and ribbons by the waist. She hates it, it looks ridiculous. She would usually say. Then her grandma would give her an up do which is her favorite hair do because no hair becomes an obstacle to her face.
In her arm, there are few scars like scratches. In their home they have a flower garden where Cassie works, and these flowers are delivered straight to the capitol. Thorns from flowers are the reason why Cassie has these scars in her lower arm. Cassie never had problems with her face, she gets acne once in a while but it doesn’t matter her, she will always say that it will just go away after a matter of time, I mean everyone gets acne, it’s normal.
Cassie doesn’t smile much often. That’s why she looks snobbish in streets or while walking without anyone with her. She doesn’t smile much but rather glare and raise her brow especially to peacekeepers. It’s one kind of rebellion she does. But peacekeepers doesn’t mind her, they know her as a snob lady.
Cassie is sweet to family and friends; she loves her grandmother and siblings dearly. She’s the eldest among her siblings and she has twin baby sisters who are 8 and a little brother who’s 5. She is also a snob especially to strangers. She doesn’t smile much. She hates the capitol so much but what can she do? The more she makes things sound bad the more she and her family are at stake. As the eldest, she takes care of her siblings and she’s in charge most of the time because her dad and mom go to work, she’s very protective of her siblings.History:
She loves to sing, she writes songs and she plays guitar too. She loves cake decorating, she volunteers to the bakery when it’s cake season in the capitol, well she heard every district is required to deliver about 30-50 cakes of different kind so she volunteers and gets paid fairly. As a girl she’s not like average girls who are timid, walks gracefully and such that cause nothing but delays.
Cassie is a book worm, she loves reading, and every night before bed she reads herself to sleep. She has a dream to become #1 Capitol’s Best Selling Author, she makes her own stories with her wild imaginations, with this her siblings listens to her every Friday night wherein she tells her stories to them.
Cassie hates the reaping most of the time. She can survive the tension when she sees flying cockroaches, or beetles, lady bugs, and other gross stuff she hates but the reaping, she hates the tension of it. She thank her lucky stars that her siblings are not yet in the age for the reaping, but as year passes she fears for them. A future wherein there’s fear everywhere.
Cassie loves animals, especially birds, Maya birds and parrots, she would spend her time talking with them. Also lovely canaries, they are quite friendly and gentle. She has a parrot actually, named Quickie because he flies so quickly.
Her flaws are loyalty and she's quite inferior. She's scared to show what she can do when in fact every body sees her potential but she just lack self-esteem and confidence. Loyalty, she doesn't want to feel betrayed by someone who is loyal with her.
She doesn't have much friends due to busy life, so she only focus on her family and the people who she works with. Who maybe her friends and mentors.
They Fray family owns a small garden that has flowers and medicinal herbs, and a bee sanctuary. The bee sanctuary has been passed down from generation to generation. Cassie lives with her Grandmother whose age is 49, they Fray siblings lost both their parents that were cause by an accident in the fields one day.Codeword: odair
Her grandmother, Geneva Fray works in their garden and bee sanctuary that Cassie and her siblings help so they can live. Since her grandmother isn’t getting any younger she decided to work in the district’s bakery as a cake designer and in a flower shop as a flower arranger. Her sibling stays home to help Grandma Fray and sell the goods in their small shop known in the district and Capitol as Fray’s Honey. Varieties of honey are sold, sweets and candies, biscuits, and their famous medicinal herbs and fresh flowers.
Since life is hard, with siblings to feed and they are defenseless in such young age, Cassie is like the head of the family. Of course Geneva is 48 already she can still work, not yet a senior citizen but she’s not getting any younger. Geneva is also a good healer, that’s why they sell different varieties of medicinal herbs, she used to be a nurse when she was young, and until now she helps people.
The Fray family loves birds, they have plenty in their garden, they always feed these birds every day. Ever since the garden was built, different kinds of birds are already living in the garden. So most likely they just feed them so the birds won’t go away.
--Usual day of Cassie--
“Morning Grandma!” Cassie said as she goes in their small shop, but not very small that you’ll squeeze. Her grandmother sits by the cashier, her ebony black hair starts to grow white strands. But her grandmother doesn’t mind. It looks cute anyway. Geneva starts to tie her hair up. She doesn’t look like a 48, she looks more like a 45 or 43. Young looking more like it.
“So Jasmine, where have you been?” Geneva asked. Cassie was called Jasmine by Geneva because she was the one who gave her the name Jasmine. Cassie smiled. “I went to decorate cakes today and had my shift in the flower shop. Here’s my salary.” Cassie gives everything to her grandma without leaving anything with her.
Her grandma took the white pouch with a hand full of coins. “Here.” She hands Cassie some coins. “No no, Grandmamma. Keep it. You do the budgeting.” Her grandma sighed. “It’s a shame you work hard, sweetie.”
Cassie smiled and rubbed her grandmother’s hand. “Of course, besides I can’t let you work alone. Anyways, where’s Annabeth and Lilibeth? Also Jordan?”
Suddenly little footsteps started to sound, first walking then running.
“Oh no…” Cassie said.
“Grandma grandma! Cassie!” A collective voice of children said.
Geneva giggled. “How are you, my dearies.”
Cassie smiled. “Okay, stop bothering grandma, she’s working.”
Lilibeth and Annabeth who looked exactly the same that you would confuse yourself who’s who giggled and laughed. They look like Cassie, same black hair and Geneva would tie it half and puts ribbon on it. Their hair runs down to their waist, same length as Cassie.
The Fray family owns gray green eyes, even their mother, that’s what caught their father’s attention. Jordan, in the other hand has brown hair like their mother’s. But grandma Geneva would say Cassie looks more of Roxanne (their mom) than George (their father), then the twins are mixed, and Jordan would look like a little version of George. That’s why Geneva is quite fond of Jordan, for he reminds her of little George playing around in the old days.
“Where did you go today, Cassie?” little Jordan asked. He was so tiny he has to look up to Cassie. Then Cassie carries him up and lets him sit by the counter. The twins join their grandma who sits by the cashier. “Look what I got you three…” Cassie took something out from her pocket. The twins are fond of ribbons. They love ribbons. “I got you ribbon clips.” Cassie clipped the ribbon in the side bangs of the twins.
“Aren’t these expensive??” The twins ran to a glass to look at their reflection, they can’t help but adore the shiny ribbons that are both colored in hot pink.
“Not really. I got it from a trade with a peacekeeper.” Cassie said. Then Jordan felt lonely. “Where’s mine?” He asked. “Of course I didn’t forget you.” She said. She yanked another thing from her jacket. It was flat circle like a size of a fist and colored in red. “I got you your favorite strawberry lollipop, Mr. Bakers the baker gave it to me.” The eyes of Jordan sparkled. He shrieked in excitement. It’s the only thing he wanted in the world. He would always say that he’ll sleep with the bees just to have that lollipop.
Their grandmother smiled with joy seeing her grandchildren filled with love despite of hardships. Ding! The wind chimes by the door sounded. “Morning, Genie.” A man said. It’s the district’s mailman, who works for the capitol. “Hello, Marshal.” Geneva greeted.
“Greetings Cassie, the twins, and little Jordan.” Marshal giggled.
Cassie smiled. Marshal is their family friend though he works for the capitol. “How may I help you?” Geneva asked.
Cassie helped Jordan jump down from the counter. “Why don’t you kids go play inside?” Cassie opens a door near the cashier that leads to their house. The children ran to the door and disappeared somewhere.
“I need a jar of honey. My daughter’s sick again. Cold.” Marshal said.
Cassie nods her head and grabbed a jar of honey. Marshal cleared his throat and paid the Fray family handsomely. “Good day to the both of you.” then Marshal left with a honey jar.
Geneva opened the pouch and there were coins more than the price of a honey jar they sell. “He’s always like that.” Geneva said. “He leaves immediately without being thanked.”
