Name: Urgorn
Age: 16
Gender: Male
District/Area: District 10
Appearance:
Personality:
Urgorn stands 5'11", has dark blonde hair, lightly tanned skin, eyes that switch from blue to green, and a fairly thin build. He's strong indeed, but focuses more on speed and agility rather than large amounts of muscle. Most opponents who could tackle Urgorn to the ground, could be defeated by superior fighting movements and dodging/blocking attacks.
Urgorn weighs about 150, pretty light for his age; he's never had to worry about overeating, he usually worries about falling underweight.
He is also a very accomplished short-range sprinter, being very fast but tiring out quickly.
Urgorn, being from district 10, has been raised a cattle worker. He greatly dislikes this, and would rather do almost any other type of work over having to sit in a saddle and sort cows all day. He works out a bit on his own to maintain strength, but he doesn't bulk up easily.History:
Ironically, Urgorn actually is a fairly learned wrestler, having done what is called 'steer wresting', where you bail off of a horse and grab a steer around the head and horns from behind, and by twisting them to the side, forcing the steer down onto the ground. Surprisingly, this takes much more technique than strength, and Urg has managed to master this skill over the years.
His hobbies include reading books and writing his own, drawing, and hunting. He hunts in the wilderness occasionally to sell for his own personal profit, and has become pretty good with a throwing spear. He prefers to be called Urg, by the few whom he can call "friend".
His greatest flaw is his best advantage. His confidence. If you asked him to outrun a champion long-distance runner, he'd accept and try, but probably fail. In any situation, while not being entirely an optimist, he is 100% confidence of success, while maintaining a humble attitude. His attitude? Quite, and usually shy around girls. But internally, VERY competitive. While he knows his family loves him (and while he doesn't mind them) he really feels little attachment to them, and feels that animals are the only ones whom he can love. He spends many a day off from working cows sitting alone on a hill writing a book with the family German Shepard, nosy (named for her long snout and habit is stuffing it in your face).
(AVERAGE with a bow, AVERAGE with a knife, and SKILLED with throwing spears)
Urgorn has always lived on a cattle ranch - His family has known no other trade. (As stated in the personality bit, Urg hates it) A good side of this is, while almost all of the beef raised on the ranch goes to the capitol, Urgorn's father manages to slip a cow a year out of the rest for the family to eat. (OOC trust me, a cow a year lasts 3-4 people almost the entire year)Codeword: <img src="http://i41.tinypic.com/16h2ibt.png">
Urgorn's family consists of his parents, Dave and Rebecca, and his sister Amelia, who is 13. Urgorn has a few Uncles and Aunts whom he's never met...and he has one remaining grandparent left, his grandmother Judy, who visits Urg and his family once a year or so. Urgorn's mother was the one who taught him how to throw a spear; when she was much younger she found a case of 4 spears buried under the family barn, and she began to practice with them by throwing them into hay bales from a distance for entertainment. When Urgorn was 12, his mother began to teach him her skill, knowing that he took no interest in cattle and that maybe he could learn to hunt, which he did. Other than this, Urgorn's father taught him how to clean a kill for eating.
Urgorn's childhood was, to say the least, dull. His parents taught him his basic learning subjects (reading, writing, math, and some Panem history), and since his younger years he's done nothing much other than help out on his parents ranch and hunt.
The highlight of his childhood is probably a cross between the day he speared his first deer when he was 13, or when a starving old dog wandered into their barn. After checking all possible neighbors, Urgorn decided that the dog was homeless, and took her in, naming her nosy.
