Name: Dahlya Milker
Age: 13
Gender: Female
District/Area: District 10
Appearance:
Dahlya is a skinny young girl. Her skin is very pale, too pale, which is weird considering the fact that she works outdoor almost every day. Her father always calls her "Little Mouse" because of her delicate features and short stature. However, this shape is not always a quality: when Dahlya is tired, sad or angry, she almost looks like she could break into a million pieces at any moment. She can sometimes look very fragile, just like a porcelain statue, but her eyes, her expression, always reflect a kind of strength that reveals she's more than just the milker's last daughter.Personality:
Dahlya has the prettiest smile in the world, but she rarely shows it. Her eyes are deep green and her eyelashes, dark and thick. Her hair is long, dark brown, very thick, and has a tendency to ondulate, probably because of the two thick braids her mother does her hair in every morning before school. She always looks nice and neat, with her hair braided back, her pinkish cheekbones, her clean dresses and black boots, but sometimes you can spot in her eyes this sparkle that tells you her mind is a mess right now. Maybe she's had a sleepless night, maybe she's cried. Maybe she's just sad. But she will never tell you anything. She'll just give you this little smile that says "I'm fine".
Her face is pale, but some freckles cover her cheekbones. Despite her age, puberty and periods didn't bring many feminine shapes and even though she looks quite adult, there is something childish in her features, like a young woman forced to grow up too fast. Her lips are full and cherry-colored, but to speak the truth, they don't welcome very true smiles. Dahlya smiles a lot, with this tiny, charming little smile, when she says hello, when she says goodbye, when she says thank you, or "can I help you" ?. She doesn't say much, but you can feel if only she would, there would be plenty of things to say. If only.
People who look at her usually find her adorable, but there is something in her eyes, in her face, something dark and secret, that somehow intimitades people. Boys sometimes look at her, discreetly, but not in that "wow, isn't she pretty" way. They stare at her by curiosity, they think "who IS this girl ?", but quickly stare away. People find her cute, beautiful even, but they don't really care about this farm girl. After all, she doesn't seem to care about them, so why would they care about her ?
Dahlya has always had a hard time making friends. At school, the kids judged her too shy. What they didn't understand is that she isn't shy. It's just her mind is such a mess she doesn't bother to socialize. Her family and close friends love her a lot though because as soon as she gets over her secretive ways in a relationship, she becomes a trustable, kind friend.History:
Life has made Dahlya stronger and stronger in appearance, but weaker in mind. Her instinct shows her bravery, but sometimes her legs just can't hold her together. She never cries in front of people, but she often spends nights without finding sleep. This is her dark side...Dahlya used to be an outgoing, funny and kind little girl, charming to everyone with her pink cheeks and big eyes. But ever since she watched her brother die in the Hunger Games, she has turned into that shy and distant little girl we know. A few people gained her trust, her love, her friendship, like her best friend Celya, her parents, and her siblings.
Despite all that, Dahlya is a reliable person. She will never let someone she loves down, not for anything in the world. She might have a dark side, but she is truly a lovely person. In her village, she has the reputation of being a helpful, good little girl and everyone loves her a lot. The merchants would always have a ribbon, a rasperry, a piece of lace for her, and the kids at school would be very happy to share their snacks with the mysterious-but-sweet little girl. I think the most important thing to know is that Dahlya Milker is very sensitive. Despite her secretive appearance, she is incredibly emotional.
In a pretty little village of district 10, there once was a big farm. It belonged to the Milker Family, who also possessed a large grass field where a big dairy herd stayed during spring, summer and fall. During winter, Mr Milker took the beasts to a nice cowshed where they stayed until the snow-days were over. One day, on April 22nd, a little girl took her first breath in the little Milker house. Her name was Dahlya and she looked so joyful, almost promising. But can anyone really be promising in the Districts of Panem ? Especially in District 10, where gather all the farmers. The Milkers were lucky: they were one of the wealthiest families of District 10, which means they worked hard, but in return, had enough to eat, a proper house and clean clothing.Codeword: odair
At school, she hardly made friends because of secretiveness but still, one friend, Celya, never left her side. Celya was the exact opposite of Dahlya: outgoing, blonde and pretty, she wouldn't have needed her to make friends, but she deliberately chose her as her closest friend. Dahlya was head-student in her class and liked studying. Books were not really allowed in the districts, but Dahlya had the chance to read a few novels her teacher bought illegally. She was up early to milk the youngest cow, cook a small breakfast with bread she had put in the oven the night before, and butter from the Milker farm. She stuffed a box of soup in her dress pocket, braided her hair back, and headed to school. When, in the afternoon, she got back home, she sometimes stopped to buy a piece of hard candy that she would chew on the way home. Once she reached the Milker farm, she helped her mother with the housekeeping, sometimes helped her father with the animals, and the next day looked exactly the same. But she did have a pleasure: she secretly kept a little book where she wrote pages and pages of poetry. She never showed it to anyone - not even Celya.
Dahlya grew up very happy in her family, until one day...During the reaping, she watched her elder brother Elias walk the stairs, disappear with two Peacekeepers on his side. She watched him disappear behind gret wooden doors. At this moment she was convinced he would come back. She wished it so hard she ended up believing it herself. One day, snow was blocking the roads and falling hard in thick snowflakes. Dahlya loved snow so much...Especially when she would sit on her father's lap, feeling the warmth of the great fire burning in the chimney. The whole family was watching the television with this worried, stressed out look, fearing the worst, trembling every time Elias appeared on screen. Everyone except small, young little Dahlia, who was smiling lightly. But then Elias was hit right through the head by an arrow. Dahlya's smile faded slowly, as screams errupted around her. She didn't move. She just stood there. She didn't cry that day. She just stopped talking. Literally. This was her way to protest, this was her way of crying. After a month, she started talking again. But she wasn't the same anymore. She was more secretive than ever: shy and distant. A few people gained her trust, her love, her friendship, like her best friend Celya, her parents, and her siblings.
