Causing trouble was something Dwyn was exceedingly good at. It was something she enjoyed. Plus she got a reward for doing it, if it was stealing she was up to. There was just something exhilarating about breaking the rules, about feeling like authority was just a rumor. Dwyn was above the law, above everyone. She sneered at everybody like they were the muck on her boots, which too her, most of them were.
And that was why she was wandering the streets now, subtly picking pockets, taking all the valuable stuff and dropping the rest onto the street. It was amazing how people were so unaware of their surroundings, how they trusted in the number of people wandering about to keep the thieves away. If only they knew how wrong they were, and they would later, when they find their wallet missing, along with whatever goodies were hidden inside it.
It was with these arrogant thoughts that Dwyn saw her next victim, a well-to-do man, judging by his clothes, was walking down the street. She was sure there were some treasures in his pockets. She casually headed towards him, pausing now and then to look at something here and there, always keeping an eye on her target. And then she saw her opportunity and stealthily slipped her hand into his pocket as he stopped to yell at some poor kid who'd stumbled into his way.
A smile of victory crosses her face as she swiftly walks away, his wallet in hand. As soon as he was out of site she quickly opens it and sifts through, pocketing only his money. And then she tosses the wallet carelessly in the gutter, a smile on her face. She was right, he had been well off and she'd taken quite a bit from him. Wouldn't he be sorry later. It was then that Dwyn collided with someone and she was sent stumbling backwards, a sudden sneer crossing her face. "Watch it!"
