Ariel Flynn, District Seven

A girl stands before you, hands on her hips. The first thing you notice about her is not her fiery golden-red hair, nor is it her shining blue eyes. The gentle scattering of freckles adorning her skin do not cross your mind. Her rounded and childish features do not matter. The one thing that stands out about the small child is the sense of wisdom that surrounds her.
Her pale face is just a little too slim, her body petite. None of this matters. The power that comes from the child is breathtaking - a mix of determination and fiery courage and knowledge far beyond her years. Her eyes are stony, and mud streaks her cheeks. You can tell only one thing about this girl from her appearance, and it is not that she has spent too long in the sun, or spends her days hurling axes around, although these things are also true.
From the second you set eyes on her, you know not to mess with Ariel Flynn.

Ariel is reserved and on guard at all times. Only her brother truly understood her, however he was killed in the games when Ariel was ten. Ariel never really recovered from this, and became fierce and unforgiving.
Ariel prefers to be alone, and spends her time training with weapons and running, as she feels it releases some of the pain built up inside of her. She prefers to wear combat gear and often has her face streaked with mud.
Ariel's arms and legs are scarred from years of working with axes, but she doesn't care much for her appearance. Ariel is permanently defenses and cares nothing for authority. Her carers have all but given up trying to control the wild and unruly child. Most other children are afraid of the girl, due to her dark past and permanent scowl. She has never found it easy to make friends, being an untrusting and suspicious character.
Rumors have circulated about Ariel being dangerous and unstable, which is not entirely untrue. Ariel has suffered with anorexia on and off since her parents were killed, sometimes unable to eat for days on end. She has no friends, nor does she want any.
Her deepest desire is to be reunited with her brother, however she first wishes to show up the capitol and demonstrate her hatred for them before all of Panem.

Her father and mother were both killed in a lumber accident when Ariel was four. Her elder brother, Ryon, was twelve at the time. Ariel and Ryon were moved to live with a family that they had never met before, a family with two children. Ariel did not get along with the family, and looked to Ryon as a father figure as she grew up. The two looked after each other.
When Ariel was seven, Ryon was reaped to be part of the games, and died a heroic death, of which Ariel was both proud of and resentful of. From then her constant struggle with anorexia spiraled out of control. Nobody since has been able to reach the girl. Ariel wishes to be reaped more than anything, mostly so she can show the capitol that the way they treat everybody is wrong, and to avenge her brothers death by killing tributes from the career districts. She is very competitive and determined, as well as patient.

The family she lives with own a lumber mill, where Ariel is not expected to (due to her fiery temperament and uncontrollableness) help. She does however sometimes choose to help with the cutting down of the trees. She is very skilled with an axe and quite strong. Due to the lack of water or coast-land in her district, Ariel is unable to swim.
