Asher Forester (District 7) (Completed)

Ash stands about 6'0", very tall for his age, has dark brown hair, nearly black, paired with darker green eyes. He has a pretty large nose, that makes him almost look like a bird, giving his face a slightly comical appearance. His skin is lightly tanned from being outside most of the time he isn't in school, but not quite as tan as you would expect from somebody from district 11 or 4, who would work in the direct sunlight as opposed to the shaded forest area where Ash lives.

Ash is slim, but muscular due to his work high up in the trees in his district, working on trimming the trees before they are cut down. Though he wouldn't be considered brutally strong, but a fair amount of strength gained from climbing up and down trees all day every day. This work experience gives him a lot of dexterity in his hands, but that doesn't quite make up for his clumsiness with his feet. People tend to joke around that he could trip over a pine needle if it would stay still long enough. Though he could be considered lacking in strength, he is very agile, and quite quick, which would be expected being able to move up and down trees very efficiently.

Ash is a little bit difficult to figure out upon first meeting. He seems just a little bit shy at first, but upon getting to know you, you would find that he is quite loud, and loves to joke, and is quite fond of sarcasm. Though this may rub some people the wrong way at first, he tends to grow on you after a short period time, especially when you realize he is just trying to be funny. Of course, he tends to assume that you know he is joking, when he may or may not sound quite serious about his offhand comment, leading to situations when others get mad at him, and he honestly has no idea why at first.

Ash is quite intelligent, though his school grades wouldn't reflect it. He simply has little interest in what the schools are trying to teach, year in and year out, so he tends to zone out while in his classes. This earns him a bit of discipline fairly often, as he can be caught staring blankly out the window of the school, no matter where in the room he is sitting. This tends to lead to many punishments, though light in nature, occur often. Fortunately for him, his teachers just think he has a short attention span, and treat him as such.

Outside of the classroom, he works very hard to bring in extra pay for his family. Though it wouldn't be his choice to spend most of his time outside of school out in the woods, helping to trim trees before they are cut down. When not working out in the woods, he tends to offset all the hard work he does, through laziness and procrastination. Even though he is quite reliable and hard working if pushed, he would honestly rather sit and stare at the clouds or just hang out with some friends doing nothing, then work towards something that isn't absolutely necessary.

Ash grew up very similarly to most of the other logging families' children in district 7. For the most part his family did alright for themselves, his father working as a logger in the forest, his mother working in one of the paper factories. In addition to his parents, he has an older brother, Russel, who is 23, and a younger sister, Iris, who is 6. His brother works out in the forest with his father, while his sister is just a student. Though he wouldn't admit it if called out, he has a large soft spot for the younger of his siblings, and generally can be convinced to do something by a flutter of the eyelashes and a slight pout on the small girl's lips.

Every day he goes to school, and then a few days a week he works out in the woods, climbing trees to cut off branches that could cause the tree to fall in a dangerous way, or get caught within the branches of other trees that have yet to be cut down, in order to give his family enough money that they do not need to put in a tessera for his younger sister, and most years for himself, (though in certain years when times were tough, it was necessary).

Spending so much time in the woods tends to have it's own advantages, in being able to move around effectively in the woods, and trees, and it tends to give you a natural awareness of the woodland wildlife, such as the best way to avoid dangerous insects such as tracker jackers, and what kinds of spiders and snakes to stay away from, and which ones are fairly harmless.

Although you would think that it was different, him being so bored in his classes, he isn't one to try and go against the rules and laws of the capital. Though he toes the line every once in a while it's not from maliciousness, but more of him attempting to make the best of his situation, which he strives to do, by keeping an upbeat (if laid back) personality, telling jokes and in general trying to keep morale around him high.
