Name: Saul Monroe
Age: 16
Gender: Male
District/Area: District 7
Age: 16
Gender: Male
District/Area: District 7
Appearance : Saul has a light brown shade of hair, but in extreme lighting it looks golden. His hair falls in small waves across his forehead. His eyes are a dark steel-blue color, and his skin is very pale. If he’s exposed to the sun for an extreme amount of time, his skin becomes burnt, much to his discomfort. He sweats more than usual.
Saul also has two noticeable scars on his body; he fell while climbing a tree and a sharp branch cut him deep from his lower back to his mid-upper back, and one on the arch of his foot from trying to put out a fire by stomping on it…barefoot when he was thirteen. Saul isn’t very muscly, but that doesn’t make him weak. He can still lift heavy things, but it takes much more out of him than it would a District 1 boy. He stands at about 5’8.
He usually wears simple clothes such as a t-shirt or hooded jacket and a pair pants along with a pair of boots. He has a small piece of leather wrapped around his left wrist.
Face claim: Kyle GallnerPersonality : Saul is generally a nice kid; he’s friendly, polite, but can become a tad bit clingy. Also, people can take advantage of him because of how kind he can be. In other terms, Saul is just a pushover. He lets his peers walk all over him, and he doesn’t do anything about it because one of his biggest fears is being alone. So he tries to please everyone even if it’s at his expense.
He’s a sensitive guy, so whenever his friends are rude or mean to him, he takes their words to heart. Saul doesn’t stop at three strikes and you’re out. He’s quick to forgive and forget someone’s wrongdoings. His mother taught him table manners at a young age, and he always tries to be polite to everyone he meets. Who knows when he’ll meet his future wife?
Like most citizens of the districts, Saul is terrified of the Capitol. He tends to avoid the subject of Capitol; knowing that if you speak out against them, they cut your tongue out and turn you into a servant for the Capitol. If he has a problem, whether it is personal turmoil or needing help reaching something on the top shelf, he’ll almost always try and deal with it by himself. Sometimes he can be a bit impatient. He usually speaks in a calm manner, but when approached by a girl he finds cute, he becomes nervous, sweaty, his words fumble and completely makes a fool out of himself.History:
Codeword: oDair
Saul was the third and last child born to his parents; the first born is his brother, , and his sister, . His family lives in the poorer side of District 7, but what they lack in money is made up in love. His older siblings always thought that their mother preferred him, but in actuality she just wanted her baby to spend time with her. This, of course, caused some sibling rivalry with him and his older brother and sister.
At the young age of eleven, he and several other kids were playing and attempting to climb the trees outside the district. One kid dared Saul to climb all the way up to the top of the nearest tree. Already knowing that being outside of the District was enough to get him whipped, he politely declined. His friend continued to bag on him calling him a chicken and a sissy, so Saul finally decided to climb the tree to get him to leave him alone. Half way up the tree, he heard a twig snap beneath his boots. The next thing he knew he was plummeting through the branches back towards the earth. When he finally got up, the group of children were immediately alarmed by the rip down the back of shirt and the large wound going from his lower back up oozing blood. After a few weeks, he was healed but not without a large vertical scar going down his back. This unfortunate event has made him try and avoid climbing high places and always avoiding taking his shirt off and exposing his scar.
He grew up around children who you could say had bullying personalities, so he found it a lot easier to give in and not argue over standing up for himself and possibly losing his friends. His peers who were bullies also caused him to have a low self-esteem, but most of the time he tries to hide how he really feels. The group he hung around with were very active Capitol-haters, and they would spew their hate for Capitol at any open ears. However, even though he was a pushover, he would never, ever talk about his opinion on Capitol in front of anyone due to knowing what happens if you speak of any type of rebellion; they cut your tongue out, ship you to Capitol and turn you into a servant. He eventually cut ties with his childhood friends.
Nothing really too bad happened to his family while he grew up, except if you consider his siblings leaving school earlier than usual to go chop wood with the rest of the lumberjacks. He attends school like most children. No death of his parents, none of his siblings being reaped, just the norm for District 7. But his life could be flipped upside down at any moment and send him into a chaotic spiral downward.
Comments/Other:Yeah, backstory is pretty crappy. I’ve worked on this for about a two weeks and it got to the point where I just wanted to be done with it.
