Skye Vonigan - District 6

Skye isn't really much, all things considered. She's a rather small girl, standing at a height of 4'7" owing to the way in which she was born, with a corresponding weight of about 70 pounds, once more owing to the way in which she was born. She's a bit of a wisp of a girl, as mentioned before, and there isn't much in the way of muscle on her. That isn't to say she's thin or anything, but she just doesn't have muscle. She is also a bit of a pale person, though this is only when she spends a lot of consecutive hours somewhere inside. More than anything, her body is really built for just staying in one place and not moving from there. Her eyes are usually narrowed, but rarely reveal what she's actually thinking, though they do give one the feeling that she is thinking, a lot in fact. The color of her eyes is very pale blue, similar to how her skin is pale.

As for her hair, she just doesn't wear it in that many different ways, usually only wearing it in one or two different ways. The first way is just leaving it to itself, letting it just fall down her back, and if it gets messy, oh well. The second way is she puts it up in two pigtails that go to the lower-left and lower-right. Although it was mentioned that she tends to not reveal much with her eyes, she does look rather tired a lot, and this is made obvious by how narrowed her eyes are. The more narrowed or "squinty" they are, the more tired she is.

She also doesn't vary much in the way of clothes, not seeing much point in changing them all that often if there is no need for it. She usually just wears long-sleeved shirts and pants, and whenever the Reaping day comes, she dresses much like a lot of other girls do. She wears a dress, black in color, that reaches down to just above her ankles, with matching black pleated shoes or pumps. As for her hair on Reaping days, she tends to just do the simplest thing and fashion it into a single ponytail that goes down her back.

One final note is the bag that she usually has around her shoulder, hanging downwards on her side. Inside this bag are various supplies needed to help alleviate most any wound, with the most prominent supply being the numerous herbs she has. She also has some other supplies in this bag for mixing herbs and other things to make remedies.

As one might expect given her rather frail body, Skye is a girl devoted to making friends and being nice to others. She is a really loving girl, and isn't shy at all; in fact, she almost always is looking out for someone else. Of course, this comes at the drawback of herself being harmed in the process, since she has been known to overexert herself on occasions.

She is also somewhat laidback, easily capable of laying down a sarcastic remark or two under the right circumstances, though she realizes when a situation doesn't warrant sarcasm. In addition to these traits, she is also rather skilled in medicinal work, able to recognize common plants that can be used for healing as well as plants that one should avoid. She can also recognize some of the rarer ones, though this is really touch and go, as she does not recognize them all the time. She is also capable of helping someone with, say, a cut or a burn, and is able to, at the least, stave off more serious injuries for some time with all the knowledge she has. All of this culminates in her disliking The Games a lot, owing to the fact that, in the end, they waste a lot of lives, and besides that, all the violence it shows might just provoke other, "ordinary" people to do violence themselves.

She doesn't see the point in senseless violence, especially when humans have enough trouble just surviving in itself, at least in this point in their history. Finally, she loves making things, even if her skills at it are not as good as they are when it comes to medicinal work. She has been known to set up traps, harmless ones obviously, in her district from time to time, and she is able to hide them rather well in the environment that they're in.

As a last note, she can be kind of...spacey, at times. That is to say, she can sometimes completely tune out what someone is saying, right in the middle of a sentence, and go off on a thought of her own.

There is not really that much to say when it comes to Skye's history. Her parents were just regular people; well, as regular as people could be in District 6. Her father was basically all about science, and conducted many experiments that he thought might enrich the Capitol. Her mother, on the other hand, was an expert in the field of medicine, with numerous people coming by the clinic she had for aid for various injuries they got. Her birth was really the first major event in her life, as it signaled an early arrival; she was premature, and her mother just barely managed to survive the sudden labor, but survive she did.

Skye was really quiet as a baby, and she's still quiet now, and her mother's clinic suffered as a result of having to take care of Skye a lot, owing to her particular vulnerabilities to things like illnesses and simpler things like falling even just a little bit, owing to her weaker body than most. Again, however, they managed to get through this rough period, and as Skye continued to grow up, her mother's clinic began to grow back up in size as well. It was not long at all before the young girl took an interest in what her mother was doing, and it was not that rare at all for her to accompany her mother while she did her work. She learned a lot by watching first-hand, even though some of the things she saw were quite bloody for someone as young as her to see, and she learned even more, both via books and via her mother.

When she was roughly eight or nine, her mother started to let her help at the clinic with small things, such as cuts, bruises, or very, very minor burns, and as she grew older, it was obvious that Skye had inherited her mother's knack for medicine, even though she was not as much as an expert as her mother, and still isn't. Skye tried her best to make friends of most anyone she could in the neighborhood she lived in, no matter how resilient they might be to her efforts. Inside though, she is really only doing this because she feels inadequate about herself, owing to her weak physical state, and so she tries to compensate by being smart and making friends of everyone. Now that she's 12, she's a very common sight in the clinic of her mother's, and the two sometimes put their heads together if they can't figure out what's wrong with a certain patient of her mother's.

Other than that, Skye is now trusted with more tasks in the clinic, which often include moderate injuries.
