Thalia Bluesage (District 7)

Thalia has pale skin with light colored freckles. She has long, thick, curly brown hair usually worn in ringlets. Her eyes are almond shaped, and a blazing ice-blue, which often catch the little light that peeks through the trees and capture a malicious quality. They are very frightening for their close resemblance to wolf eyes.She is tall, and though not true, her mother says it was because she was born among trees. One thing that haunts her is the fact that two of her toes are fused together, making her look like she only has four toes. She also suffers from terrible acne and poor vision.

She is exactly 5' 6" and weights only about 115 lbs., making her look long and lanky like a skeleton. This brutally weakens her strength, but if anything, gives her more speed. She does not lose too much energy because of her familiarity with fasting for so long so that she has enough food to give her younger siblings. She suffers from a strong form of depression, and often causes her to ignore most things around her. She often sports a solid green tank top and long, baggy brown pants. On the day of the reaping, she wears a short green dress with a brown over-skirt.

Thalia is not commonly a very kind person, she is usually slinking off sitting on rooftops at night or hiding in the shadows. She prefers not to talk to anyone, but scares basically anyone because of her eyes, uncommon in her district. She rarely shows her soft side and that is only to her family, whom she loves more than anything. She loves her youngest brother, Phox, the most. She loves children, but she doubts she will have any of her own because of her inability to talk to others, therefore she will never have a husband.

Thalia is not a kind person, mostly because she has never had much human interaction and doesn't know how to really be kind to someone. She has always been made fun of for her unusual eyes and pale skin, which is uncommon in her district. She has never had any friends, and she has never made an effort to make any. She usually just focuses on her schooling, which she hopes to further and open her own small clothing buisness in the marketplace. She is highly tempermental and cannot control herself when she's angry.

She has lashed out at others before, and was whipped when she was 12 for attacking a vegetable salesman in the marketplace when he was being mean to her sister. She has never lashed out quite as bad, but she neglects socializing with others at the fear of hurting someone or getting her family in trouble because of her. She has trouble when it comes to trusting others, and most the time trusts no one but herself, not even her siblings. She is pretty ignorant in the sense that she doesn't see the good in people. In a way, she thinks that everyone is out to hurt her.

Thalia lives with her father, Gauis (42), her mother, Fannia (40), and her seven siblings, 3 brothers and 4 sisters; Delphi (F)- 12, Indigo (M)- 10, Talon (M)- 9, Malon (F)- 9, Katri (F)- 7, Theta (F)- 5, Phox (M), 2.When Thalia was 13, her father lost his foot in an accident while he was working in the lumber industry. At that time her mother was pregnant with Phox and she had six other young mouths to feed. After the accident, her father got a disease unknown to the healers in District 7. He suffers from frequent fevers, dizziness, weakness, amnesia, and lung problems.

Now, with Phox and Theta being too young to attend school, her mother decided to stay out of work to take care of them until they are old enough to go to school. However, with her father in the condition he's in, he can't even get out of bed, possibly dooming her mother to stay at home even after Phox begins attending school. Thalia has been working chopping trees in her father's place since she was 11. She has become skilled at her craft, and is better than she first intended to be at hard labor. Before her mother was pregnant with Phox, she worked as an assistant at a popular vegetable shop at the market.

Though not admitted, her family has an unusual religion among the districts, as worship for generations by our family, and was even worshipped before Panem was a country. Due to their religion, they have many children. Though it is difficult to feed them, they have not lost any children, but are not intending to have any more because of their age. Most of the children in the family probably will not live past age 12, so they will most likely not carry on the family bloodline. Their mother had three sisters and a brother, who are now dead, which had the same religion. They are the only family that practices this religion in District 7.

Thalia actually wants to go into the reaping, even at the risk of losing her life, to get money and food for her siblings. Her only fear is if she is reaped, she will be leaving behind her family who could possibly starve or die. Her greatest want is to gain wealth for her family, and the games seems to be the only way to achieve that goal. She also wants to make absolutely sure that her sisters do not have to take out any Tessera, where as she has taken out about seven every year. If one of her siblings were to be reaped, she would surely go in their place as tribute.
