Dekota Rhodes: District 7 [Finished]

Dekota has long sandy blonde hair that grows in thick curls that appear unkempt but it works for him and he likes the look. He stands at about five feet nine inches. He has pretty, blue-gray eyes with a touch of green just in the very center. They look the color of forest ponds shrouded in the shadows of trees. His face is gaunt and serious and he is often lost in thought. He has big, strong hands and large feet made for balance. He is skinny at his waist line; however, he is fairly broad across the shoulders. He is as pale as death and burns easily. He has strong leg and back muscles with decent arms and well built shoulders. He has a long stride that takes him where ever he goes quickly because of his disproportional, long legs. His face is not ugly but he is not exactly handsome either. He has two thin scars one along the underside of his lower lip and one across his back from when he fell out of a tree and hit several branches on the way down. He is well built but not huge, and he can run fast but is not the fastest.

He can only hear about 70% of the noise in his left ear because of an ear infection he had in his childhood. He has strong eyesight and can see in dim lighting because he is a night owl and reads often late into the night. He has bushy eye brows and long girly eye lashes but not much else in the way of facial hair. He likes to were loose shirts in plain colors such as blue, green and black but he is not opposed to white or grey. He likes long pants as it protects his legs while hiking in the woods. He almost always wears gloves and hiking boots even indoors. His most defining piece of clothing is his fathers satchel which he never parts with, and in which he holds most of his things.

Dekota has always been a bit of an outsider wherever he went. He is always there but not a lot of people notice him except when he really wants to be noticed. He doesn't stand out socially in his school. He is a good student but finds school too easy for him. He is absolutely fine with being out side of the group and figures that is does not really matter.

He gets along with other people decently but has few friends. He is always there for the friends he has though, and when ever they need something of him he is always willing to help if he is able. He has always gotten along better with his teachers and other adults. He is a bit above average in intellect, and he enjoys long talks with people smarter than him. He seeks out people of higher intellect in the hopes that through them he can learn something, for he likes learning and is very quick at picking up new things. He knows how to do a lot of useless things and picks up new things often.
He is curious to a fault and always is asking the question why. He needs to know the answer to his questions. In pursuit of this he constantly watches other people and is very observant; for when you are a social outcast you have a lot of free time.

In his free times he likes to whittle thinks like canes, dolls and small furnishings(for his sister), fish hooks, toy swords and whistles he also likes to read and actually has quite a few books (mostly stolen). He is level headed and slow to anger, but he is indecisive and takes a long time in deciding what to do but usually comes up with a good plan in the end. He is very depressed and often wishes he could just lie down and give up but he can not because he has to take care of his family. He is very unsure of himself and has low self esteem and confidence. He has good character when it comes to most things but he was a bit of a thief before his fathers death but he was good at it and was only ever caught twice. (got of easy the first time only a week in detention, the second he got five lashes and two weeks)

Dekota was born at a very young age in district 7 to parents Bruce and Meadow Rhodes. He had two older siblings and has two younger siblings. His older siblings Randy and Rolph were twins and were four years older than he was. When he was fourteen both his brothers were out logging with his father when a sudden storm came upon the woods. They sought shelter in a cabin with some other loggers but the roof caved in killing His father (Bruce) and one brother (Randy). His other brother Rolph had his leg crushed under a beam and is now a cripple for life. He works as best he can trying to get odd jobs that he can do but he can no longer support the family like he use to.

And so, the brunt of the family's well being fell to Dekota. He hit his growth spurt early and was able to get a job logging but he has five mouths to feed with a lousy salary, but they get by. When he was younger he was sickly and got several ear infections which left him with only 70% hearing in his left ear.

His mother (Meadow) is a seamstress and is able to earn a little money that way. His mother is also popular among all circles of district seven and is known to all. His two younger siblings Willow(girl age nine) and Moss(boy age twelve) both love Dekota and he dotes on them by whittling things for them or finding plants in the woods for them. Both are good kids and intelligent but are social studs unlike Dekota. They have numerous friends and are often with them.
