Artemis Carmzarola, D8

Artemis sure looks like a wild thing, that's for sure. She has messy blonde hair that falls onto her shoulders. Her round, sapphire eyes really match her curls. This is where she got the not-so much used nickname 'Goldylocks'. Her skin is tannish because she loves to play out in the sun. Her eyebrows are thin and blonde, like her hair. Artemis's eyelashes are short and dark. She hates this a whole lot. She has little freckles on her nose, but you can't see them from a distance. She has a heart-shaped face, which she likes to complain about.

Now, this is where Artemis starts looking like a real goddess. She has a long neck and wide shoulders. Artie is quite skinny. Her arms are long and often twitch. She stands at 5"3, which, as far as she knows, is average height. Artie wishes she were taller, because then she can run faster.

Artie's legs are long and perfect for running. Her feet are normal-sized (ha, ha). She also has tons of scratches and bruises from running around her district. They say this ruins her skin, that used to match her silky curls so nicely.

Artemis usually wears tank tops, sweat shirts (especially denim), shorts, and whatever else she can find. She is, and looks, like a true tomboy. But many people say she has no taste in clothes.

Artemis is the girl who cares. She is obsessed with nature, though she lives in this crowded district. She likes to wander far away, in the deep forest, and then come back with food for her family. Because she is quite the runner, the Peacekeepers never seem to notice her and when they do, they can never catch her. Artemis is a skilled archer, and she likes to brag about it from time to time.

Artie has a really bad temper. She is easily annoyed and can be sarcastic. She also blurts out things that she often regrets, and when she does, she tries to cover it up. She usually blames other people for what she's done, but you always know that sweet little Artemis would feel guilty and say sorry. Artie may have a way with words, but they sometimes are a little too harsh, so Artemis may end up wanting to take it back.

Artemis is also a bit shy. She can be broken easily. But when she goes out to hunt (illegally, I guess) she can get quite violent. Usually out of frustration. But Artie is stubborn, and once she finds a goal, she never gives up. She is a healer, like her mother before she left.

The girl has a way of bringing out the beauty in others. She can see the light in others, even when the person can't see it themselves. This is Artemis's best trait, but some people think that Artie is trying to make people like her. Okay, maybe that part was a bit true, but not always. You can also say that Artemis is a tomboy, because she is always running and climbing and hunting and getting dirty. Her family does not always like it, though.

Artemis Carmzarola is an only child, for now. She grew up with her parents Hector Carmzarola and Hestia Luna Carmzarola. As you can see, Artemis was named after the Greek goddess Artemis, goddess of the hunt. The family had no idea, no one knew that Artie was named after an ancient goddess. Hestia Carmzarola just named Artemis after her grandmother.

Artemis grew up as a silent little girl, often questioning her mother's name and her own because she was often teased because of it. Her mother would sigh and explain that Artemis's name is special, different. Artie would nod. The family worked in a factory making Peacekeeper uniforms, and sometimes, Artemis went out to gather food. She enjoyed it, running out of the air-polluted, urban place called District 8. Well, she didn't run out, she just went on the outskirts of the District.

When Artemis was 9, her mother left them and went to District 4 to marry her old lover. Mr. Carmzarola said it was because she was not satisfied with life in this District. Artemis understood. She would much rather live in District 4 or 7, where forests are thick and the sun shines through the trees and the waters are clear and the rivers are long.

So Artemis and Mr. Carmzarola lived together. They helped eachother out, each earning money in their own ways, getting food at the market and all. When Artemis turned 12, she spent her days sitting on the ground and staring into the light, praying and praying to god that she would not be picked for the Hunger Games. Artie was more cowardly than ever during that year. She hoped there was a god who would not punish her and send her into the arena. She did not deserve to be killed.

About a couple of weeks before Artemis turned 13, her mother returned, sobbing and begging for a second chance. Artemis and Mr. Carmzarola did not want to let her in, but there was only one problem: Mrs. Carmzarola was pregenant. They had to let her in.

Artie's mother told them about how her new husband betrayed her and all. With a baby. She wanted to start things over. Hector Carmzarola was way too kind. They got married again and Artemis was happy. They are expecting a baby in June (real life June).

Artemis is a character for Sarella's awesome Greek Mythology plot.

Artie does not have a face claim, but she looks something like Taylor Swift. That should help.

The girl's birthday is June 16th.
