Sigmund Cross // District 7

Sigmund is an imposing figure standing at a height of 6 feet and 2 inches weighing 220 pounds which are complimented by a well muscled body. While many might assume his large body came from hard work genetics played a big role as many of the men in his family are large men, Sigmund is actually small compared to his father. Having spent many of his days as a lumberjack cutting down the beautiful trees that inhabit his home Sigmund has sun tanned skin that is more darker around his arms and face.

With shoulder length wavy black hair and bright lime green eyes his face is quite noticeable. For those who know his family they know his hair comes from his father's family who all were known for their black hair and blue eyes but the eyes came from his blonde haired mother's family. If one were to look closely then they could notice the results of hard work on Sigmund's body. Although his arms are well muscled and toned they are covered with scars and his hands are severely calloused and rough from constantly handling the rough bark of trees. Also his fingernails are always noticeably dirty no matter how many times he cleans them.

Sigmund is not one to take note of his clothing very often. A simple black buttoned shirt with torn blue jeans and an old pair of black boots is as nice as it gets for Sigmund. However his trademark clothing is his old black leather jacket. No matter what he usually wears his jacket.

Sigmund can best be described as being passionate in what he believes. And he believes the world he lives in is corrupt and needs to change. However above all else he is a realist and admits that he has no real way of changing the world himself and so he turns the majority of his focus to duty.

Sigmund works constantly and efficiently to keep his mind off other things in his life. While he is passionate this passion has a tendency to change into rage. To keep this burning anger at bay Sigmund often covers his emotions with a wall of reserved quiet. Because of this however he has a tendency to scare most people with his cold, dark, and quiet persona.

If someone were willing to dig deep enough they would find a man with a kind and caring heart who has a deep sense of self pride and honor. Due to his immense strength and self confidence Sigmund is not one to turn from a fight however he tends to hold back from fear of hurting someone. Sigmund has an open distaste for the Capitol and oppression in all other forms, such as the Peacekeepers. The one and only thing that keeps Sigmund from taking his chances as a wanderer is that despite all else he loves his District, and he feels that by abandoning it he would be abandoning a self induced duty to protect the people he lives with.

Sigmund was born to Jonathan Siegfried and Aislinn Marie Cross as their only child in District 7. As a boy Sigmund was rambunctious and playful always running rampant through the trees of his home. At an early age Sigmund was taught by his father to use an axe like most children in his district. In School Sigmund proved a decent enough student but unwilling to obey the rules of his superiors. The only adult Sigmund seemed willing to obey was his grandfather Michael Volsung Cross.

Throughout his childhood Sigmund would play with his grandfather lovingly and the two spent many days together with Volsung teaching Sigmund of their families Celtic heritage kept through records that survived the ages. This all changed when Volsung was taken by the peacekeepers and executed under the grounds of inciting a rebellion. Sigmund had been ten and was heartbroken for months. This heartbreak slowly turned to hate for the Capitol.

As soon as he reached the age of fourteen Sigmund completely dropped out of school to fully work as a lumberjack alongside his father. At first the peacekeepers made trouble about it but overlooked it due to him working to "better the Capitol's resources". He has since been working as a Lumberjack trying to find some way to repress the anger and rage boiling inside of him.

In the event that he were to be reaped for the Hunger Games, Sigmund has been gifted with certain skills due to his life in District 7. Aside from customary axe skills Sigmund displays knife skills as well as an affinity for tracking and working hard in harsh climates. Lastly Sigmund's strength has made him a very gifted fighter.

Sigmund's favorite color is red, he smokes cigarettes, and he is a total mamas boy deep down.
