Fihark was taking care of the cow's that his parents raised for milk and beef. He always hated to see the cows sold to some rich merchant family that was just going to slaughter it like it didn't have any feelings. He hated those merchants that thought they were so much better than us. He hated the Capitol people even more than those merchants. They made families raise these animals and then they would just come in one day and tell them they had to give all or almost all of them to the Capitol. This happened about once a year and whenever it happened it sent Fihark over the edge. He wouldn't sleep, he wouldn't eat, he wouldn't even talk to his family. He hated those people from the Capitol.

I walked trough the town relatively briskly in order to avoid another fight. I was in great pain wincing with every step trying to hold my broken nose in place. I really needed some help. I looked around desperatly and saw a farmhouse and started towards it and stopped when I saw The boy.

Fihark looked out into the road and saw someone holding their nose like it was broken or something. He started to walk briskly towards the stranger. When he reached him he had no idea who it was.

"Are you okay?" Fihark asked ths strange person.

Christine walked to her henhouse. Her father let her "own" the chickens since he was allergic to feathers. "Sukky, your chicks hatched," she cried in delight, seeing the brown hen walk down the ramp of the henhouse with a line of chicks behind her. "Let's see... one, two, three, four, five, six, seven! Seven chicks! Good job!" The hen clucked in amusement. Christine peered inside the henhouse. A bunch of hens had eggs under their nests. Raising the retractable roof, Christine put her hand under each bird and pulled out several eggs. None tried to peck her. (The hens, not the eggs.) "Thanks, guys," she said. Sometimes the hens seemed like her best friends. She walked off to the market to sell the eggs.

Christine headed to the stable to saddle her horse, Tug. She had raised him from a colt and knew she could ride him to the market without him jolting the eggs out of the basket. She was on her way to the market when a group of Peacekeepers surrounded her. "What's in the basket, girl?" "J-just e-eggs."
"Let's see," said one Peacekeeper. He snatched the basket and took the eggs out, one by one. He tossed them at Christine, who managed to catch most, but about a third of them fell to the ground and shattered. "Ha!" the Peacekeeper snorted when he saw how despretly she tried to keep the eggs from slipping. "Take your stupid basket." He flung the basket at her and walked off with his buddies.

Oh how those nightengales hated her. Luccia, who's family ran "Pinna's nightengale shop" was not a natural nightengale lover. they despised her, more than you would think. They stopped cooing when she came in, they tweeted when she was gone. They avoided her at all costs, no matter what. That was why she was extremley upset when her parents pulled her to the side. "Feed the nightengales tonight, will you? They need some bonding." So, she pulled up her faux suede bootstraps and looked at the brown and white beasts that she was named for, her name was actually a shortened part of one of their scientfiic names. "NOW WHO'S HUNGRY?"
