An another punch dug its way into his jaw. An another kick flung its way into his ribs. A whimper slipped out of his lips as he backed further into the corner. 'I didn't do anything! I didn't do anything...' Was all he wanted to say, as the seventeen year old clutched his stomach in pain.[/blockquote]
All the haunting smirks and laughter echoed in Matthew's head as his fellow classmates surrounded him, blocking his way of escape. He felt his back shiver as he was pushed onto the brick wall, facing the crowd with wide horror-stricken eyes. His hands shook violently as he started to claw the wall, hoping that would somehow distract him from the humiliation and pain. The violet orbs squinted shut, an attempt to exclude the current situation. Sweat trickled down Matthew's neck as his legs gave up. He curled into a ball, his legs drawn into his chest in a protective vice. Yet, that only seemed to aggravate the animosity that was instilled in the crowd...
'What did I do to deserve this? What did I-' However, his thoughts were quickly interrupted by the ringing that vibrated in his head. At first, he thought it was from the loud remarks from the group but to his surprise, his head was actually bleeding. His eyes blinked open as the hand that struck him was fleeing from his sight. Warm, ruby liquid ran down his forehead onto the planes of his cheek then down to dribble on his chin.
Drip, drip. Each drop of blood drawled on as seconds of silence. Matthew could feel the anticipation float in the air as a pool of blood began to form on the ground. He felt lightheaded as each second prolonged into minutes; slowly but steadily losing his conscious at times. The group started to dissipate as Matthew started to drift into the dark abyss of his mind.
"And that's what you get when you mess with me, Alfred..."
Matthew only had one question then, "Who the hell was this 'Alfred?'" He mentally asked himself as the last ray of light slipped from his view...
