Recruits:The Uprising[All Uprising Members]

I listen to the crunch of the ground as I walk with Myla in the Forest. Haven sent us to get some recruits. We'll be lucky if we find even one. But at least while we're doing this, we can hunt for some food.

Myla is ahead of me and I'm maybe a few yards back. Then she looks over her shoulder and smiles.

"Do you seriously think we'll find anyone to join? It just seems kind of unlikely." she asks. She had a point. It would be really odd to find someone out here. But, like before, I starting to look on the bright side of things.

"Yeah. Maybe. Depends on how hard we look and how hard we actually hope....Myla." I laugh. A breeze washes over us and I rub my arms trying to attain some body-warmth.

I catch up to Myla and walk beside her. "Hey, now that we're here, we might as well get some food, right?" I pull out the knife I brought with me from the day we first met and grip it.

I re-grip the knife again, just to make sure it doesn't slip. I see a small squirrel in the distance and begin to squat and crawl towards it.

I pick up a small pebble from the ground and throw to the squirrel's right. It hears it and runs right towards my direction. Without thought, I throw the knife at it. I watch as our lunch scurries away.

"Damn it." I snap my fingers in disappointment, but look at Myla, wondering what she is thinking.

"What do you think? Have I gotten better?" I ask, hoping for a good answer and maybe at least one recruit to make up for the missing lunch.

"Yeah,maybe.It depends on how hard we look and how hard we actually hope...Myla."Well,as stupid as that actually sounded,at least he wasn't calling her 'Ms. Myla' anymore,as if she was a teacher.Although she was still teaching him how to handle weapons,he was still having a little trouble,but he had improved a lot.Not near her actual skill,but it took practice.She had been hunting for years,so she had no trouble.He,on the other hand,had only been following her around for a month or so.

As if to prove her unspoke point,he started to speak."Hey,now that we're here,we might as well get some food,right?"This would be interesting.Not that she didn't have faith in him,but seriously,he still needed some work.

She watched anxiously as he gripped his knife tighter and tricked a squirrek into coming closer to him.Hey,at least he had some common sense.She peered back and forth between the squirrel and Scamp with anticipation.She could probably slip out her own knife,and throw it just as fast,with her more skilled aim,but she would let him practice.It was just a squirrel,anyways.There were definitely more.

He aimed,and then threw.And missed.

The surprised squirrel was in a frenzy,and it ran away without a second thought.Scamp's knife had hit a few inches to the left of it,sadly.But that was okay.It was close.

It was then that she noticed an odd amount of smoke coming from not too far ahead of the two of them.Her whole mind set into panic mode then,assuming the worst.The Capitol people had found them.

With adrenaline pumping through her veins,and a billion worried thoughts passing through her mind,all at the same time.Rooted to the spot,she saw a silhouette of a person,behind the veil of smoke.She didn't look at the ground,where squirrels were panicking about.She kept her gaze steadfast on the odd figure,with tense muscles and a hand grasped around a knife.She would have no trouble,if she needed to throw it.She hardly ever missed,these days.

Something was off,though.Why was there smoke,anyways?She shifted her gaze to the ground,only to find several squirrels,with knives piercing their small bodies.So was the person just hunting,then?

This didn't calm her down.

The person,whoever it was,could still be dangerous.As the smoke cleared,she could see more clearly,a girl about her own age.Give or take a few years.She was small,looking fragile,if she was compared to Myla's own height.The girl clasped knives in her hands,like Myla was.But Myla usually didn't need more then one.

Myla was still tense,but she had been in odd situations before.Like when Scamp threatened to turn her in,if she didn't teach him how to survive in the wild.She shook off the thought,as she wasn't afraid of Scamp anymore.He wasn't a threat,or at least she didn't think so.

People were trickly like that,sometimes.They were unpredictable,and that was why she was so tense.She wasn't about to underestimate this small girl.

With a strong voice,she was able to hide all worry."Well,your aim isn't too bad."As if she was worrying about that.

The girl placed the knives back into her pocket. Immediately, I notice her mistake. Knives and Pockets don't go well together. After she picked up the squirrels she caught, she said her name.

"I'm Seph,and you?"

He was thinking about answering and whether he should trust this girl, who just so happened to hold a bomb in her hand. She continued tossing it from hand and hand as if it nothing dangerous.

I start eying it when Myla begins to speak.

"Myla" she answers. Okay. So now Myla and Seph are introduced. Now it was my turn to shine.

"Scamp" is all I say. I keep eying the bomb, which in fact, is larger than the last bomb she exploded. Hopefully, she didn't set off this one.

After a couple stupid thoughts, a plan is born in my head. A good plan too. But first I need to confirm it with Myla. I lean over to Myla and whisper in her ear.

"Haven did say we needed a Bomb Specialist, didn't she?"
