Escaping. (Open)

I have no guarantee that district thirteen even exists, and I dont really care. All I want is to escape this Hell hole, and be free. My little brother clutches my arm and I feel my circulation cut off. I meet his panicked eyes and the same panicked feeling seeps into my heart. I dont want to risk my brothers life. I'd do anything for him. Maybe I should stay...No, I am doing this for him. I won't keep him here in district two, knowing our luck he'd probably get chosen for the hunger games, or I would, and he would be left to die. I swallow hard, gently pry his fingers from my arm, and remind him of our plan. "Robbie," I always call him by his nickname. "You remember the plan right?" I stare into his frightened eyes. Robbie nods violently. "Good. Now in a few minutes, the guard will leave his post and another will take it. that's when they will be distracted, so get ready." I am suddenly extremely nervous again. What if we get caught? We will be shot, or worse. No, I will be shot. I will do everything in my power to see that Robbie has a chance to live freely in district thirteen, or the wild. Times almost up.

Time's up.
I grab Robbie's arm and advance toward the gate. If I stick to the bushes, I'll make it to the hole I dug over past weeks. As soon as my foot hits the ground at the end of my first step, I notice a figure partially hidden on the opposite side of the path in front of me.
Crap.
I slowly crouch to the ground and I can hear Robbie's heart beat.
"What is it Zeni?" Robbie calls me Zeni for the same reason I call him Robbie instead of Robert.
"Someone is over there!" I whisper fearfully. "They must have posted guards at the base of the fence also!"
"You think someone found your hole?" Robbie squeezed my hand, his voice betraying his complete fear.
"No." I reply. "If someone found my hole, then we would have heard sirens and peacekeepers would have marched through the district killing people." Thank goodness it noone had found it. I have to find out more about this figure opposite us. "Robbie, I'm going to go see if I can find out anything about this person okay? So you stay here, and don't move."
Robbie doesn't let go when I rise to a position I can move in.
"I'm going with you Zeni." Robbie's voice shakes, but I detect an icy tone of determination to it.
Great. I dont have time for this! I stare Robbie in the eyes and pry his fingers from my arm. "Robert Hallet Bahnel, you stay here, and if I don't comeback in five minutes, I want you to make your way to my hole and escape. Understood?" Terror fills my heart but I don't let it show. If I dont come back, it's most likely Robbie won't make it, but we can't go if this person on the opposite side of the path is watching us. He hangs his head and begrudgingly nods. I don't look back as I creep through the foliage. Crickets sing, oblivious to the peril Robbie and I are in. I almost die of a heartattack when a field mouse scampers across my boot, trying to escape me. In no time I'm approaching the spot where I last saw the mysterious figure.

I slow down when I think I hear movement. I bend my knees slightly, and slowly approach the area. If the person is a peacekeeper, I want to be able to take him or her out. I scan my surroundings, and my eyes rest on a large rock at my feet. I reach gently for it, never taking my eyes from the forest around me. I feel its' cold hard surface and commence approaching his or her hiding spot. I enter a small grove of trees, and immediatly find something out of place. A circle of leaves surrounding something scrawled messily into the soil.
I'm here to help. I'll make sure you get out safely. I promise.
I stand in place, unsure of what my next actions should be. Should I run? Should I look for the person and try to furthur understand? Or should I just kill the person when I find them?
Several scenarios dart through my mind, and I finally decide to look for the person, find him,or her, and decide what to do next.
I dare not let go of my rock.
I step uncertainly forward, and my eyes just barely catch a twitch of movement, like a hand drawing behind a tree. My heart plapatates, and I approach the large oak that concealed my unknown adversary.
It strikes me that if the person really was a peacekeeper, and heard me coming, they wouldn't have written the note and hid, they would have chased me down and shot me, I would already have been cold of the ground, bloodless, my eyes open in frozen terror.
I decide to be carefull anyway.
Wincing at ever noise a dried leaf creates under my clumsy boots, I advance with a thundering heart, muffled only by my ribs and muscles.
A few moments later, my hand is resting ponderously on the rough bark of the oak. Last chance to turn around. No. I wont run.
I jump to the other side and pin the mystery person to the tree. I raise my arm with the rock, threatening a death blow.
"Give me one good reason your here, and why I should trust you and I won't smash your skull in!"

I must get going...

This girl really wants to get away.
I wish I could.
How many times had I made it to the gate, only to turn away at the last second?
Suddenly, I hear something.
I immediately grab the girl, yanking her to the ground.
I don't bother with the other guy.
But I duck to late.
The arrow hits me just below my shoulder.
I wince in pain, but yank it out quickly. Blood spills out.
Suddenly, I see the panic in the girl's eyes, and I realize what she's thinking.
"Your brother!" I gasp, suddenly remembering.
I duck into the bushes, quickly locating the boy.
I cover his mouth first, so he can't scream, then pull him back to where his sister is.
The, staying low, I grab my wound and try to stop the bleeding.
I don't know where that arrow came from, but I do know we're not sticking around to find out.

(Ummmm... Destiny is a she...)
"No..." I say quietly, pulling away. "I'll help you get out, but..."
I stare up at the full moon.
"But I'm staying."
I said it so quietly I wonder if she even heard me.
I no this girl really wants me to come. But I can't.
I've tried so many times...
We reach the secret hole.
"Go," I whisper, looking around for Peacekeepers, or the person who shot the arrow. "I'll cover you untill you're on the other side."
Another arrow, this time right next to the girl's head, flies.
"Go!" I hiss.
