Jace Ryder was sitting on the dark grass of District 12, waiting for someone to come along to talk to. The only people lately he had talked to were a crazy runaway and a sword master. Just the average freaks of the day. Jace had out a notebook and a pencil and was currently drawing the landscape. A dark, gloomy, sad picture of District 12. The smoke drifting in the air, the lights on in houses, the peace keepers walking around. It was dreadful.
Jace had been looking for friends for a while now and was beginning to grow doubtful. Jace had never had a real friend and the closest one that he had ever had was his brother and he was murdered in The Games. Jace then began to sing in a whisper but it was still beautiful. He was singing a very famous song in District 12 and he had grown quite fond of it. Every time he thought of his brother he began to sing it.
"Deep in the meadow, under the willow
A bed of grass, a soft green pillow
Lay down your head, and close your eyes
And when they open, the sun will rise
Here it’s safe, and here it’s warm
Here the daisies guard you from every harm
Here your dreams are sweet–
–and tomorrow brings them true
Here is the place where I love you.
Deep in the meadow, hidden far away
A cloak of leaves, a moonbeam ray
Forget your woes and let your troubles lay
And when again it’s morning, they’ll wash away
Here it’s safe, and here it’s warm
Here the daisies guard you from every harm
Here your dreams are sweet–
– and tomorrow brings them true
Here is the place where I love you.
Here is the place where I love you."
