BLUE KILO
Sixteen
District twelve
"My aunt is crazy, I knew that."
I put down my bags, Tally grabbing onto my skirt, her own bags on the ground, and scan for Aunt Rosie. When my aunt was sixteen, she ran away from District twelve for "the love of her life". Turns out when he told her that he lived in District elven, he meant that he lived in the capital and had a girlfriend. She stayed in District Elven because she liked it there. Aunt Rosie found it peaceful there.
And now, Aunt Rosie thought that Tally and I needed some "girl-time" away from dad and Coy and she wouldn't take no for an answer.
I met Aunt Rosie Once, when I was small. Tally never met her and was afraid. She wouldn't let go of my pink knee length skirt.
"There's my favorite two nieces!" Aunt Rosie exclaimed as she emerged form the crowds.
"We're your only two nieces, Aunt Rosie." I replied as she pulled us into a big hug that cut off our air intake.
"Right, I just haven't seen you in so long, Blue!" Aunt Rosie replied as she let go of us. "Now the next two months are going be filled with girl time!" She picked up one of my suitcases and one of Tally's. "Now, Tal-Tal," She said, refering to Tally. "Do you have a boyfriend yet?"
"Aunt Rosie! She just turned six!" I exclaimed as Tally's eyes widened.
"Right."
Once we got to the house, Aunt Rosie showed us our rooms. Her house had three bedrooms, so Tally and I got our own rooms. I stuffed my clothes into my dresser, resloving to clean them up later. I had traded the thin white shirt I had matched with my skirt for a light pink tanktop the second I got to my room. Aunt Rosie had commented on how she could see though the dull yelow bra I picked. My cheecks where a bright red all the way from the train station.
"Aunt Rosie, I'm goint to explore District Elven a bit." I told her.
"Alright, dear. Be back for dinner." She warned me. I ran out of the kitchen door into District Elven, dust clinging to my white flats.
