End of Day One.
It was already dark, when Zinnia finally decided to stop. Ailia was there with her, and the rest of the alliance was probably not too far away. It was easy to see the tributes who had run to the lake, after the Corncuopia, and she believed that the rest of her alliance had too. At least, she hadn't seen them go any other direction when she was finally sprinting away from the Cornucopia.
It had been hours since she had killed the District 10 male and finally sprinted away from the Cornucopia with Ailia. What was the boy's name? She asked herself, giving her mind something to think about, other then how tired she was after hours of moving. I thought it started with a J... she pondered to herself as she looked back at Ailia. Jake? No. James? Not that either.. Oh.. It was Jayson. Now that her mind had settled down and she wasn't ready for a frenzy of killing, she was almost actually feeling sorry for the guy.
Almost.
The hours of movement had made her tired, but she was used to that. Her muscles ached and her thoughts were slightly foggy, but at least she wasn't cold, yet. The constant movement had kept her warm, but she would soon feel much colder because she had stopped. Her hair was out of place, her forehead was covered in sweat, but she still held the same wide grin on her face as she had hours ago. She had never smiled so much in her whole entire life.
She plopped down onto the snow, looking back up at Ailia again. Turning towards her and taking off her backpack, she spoke. "Hey, check those backpacks to see what's inside of them."
Zinnia had two backpacks, now. One was a larger one, with better supplies. She checked that one first, and inside she found a t-shirt, a tarp, flint, a flashlight, a compass, a tent, a grapple hook, a jar of pickles, and some broth. The flint would be useful if she had to make a fire, the tent would provide good shelter for the whole alliance, and the flashlight would be useful at night, that is, if she was a good distance away from other tributes who were after her.
In the smaller pack was another tarp, two magnifying glasses, some crackers, and a hunting knife. She wasn't quite sure what she would do with the magnifying glasses, but the crackers, hunting knife, and tarp would be useful.
The only problem was, she didn't have the weapon that she wanted. The weapon that she had trained the most with. Frowning for the first time in hours, she looked over at Ailia."Do you have anything useful?"
