I brush away more dirt and pull out today's little remnant of the past, a small silver and reflective cuboid with a white wire moving from it, and the word "iPod" stenciled on the back. I stick it in the bag, museams pay a lot for these remnants of pre-Capitol Panem...

There' little else to be found here, I decide. The dig hasn't yielded much, the "iPod", a toy car, a teddy bear. Presumably I'd found what had been a child's bedroom. I mark it on my map, like today, old Panem hadn't had houses in the middle of nowhere, it's probably part of an old town, others can come here with real equipment and find more. I begin to pack up, head for the Capitol, get my pay cheque.
