Age: 18
Gender: Male
District/Area: District 1
Appearance:
Personality:He is exactly six feet tall and has a built frame. Callidos is still thin in his torso and his thighs do not touch. He has muscular arms that seem to show through whatever clothes he is wearing. His torso is thin and does show much muscle, though if you were to lean against his chest, you could tell it was there. His legs are not as muscular as the rest of him. He spends most of his time with his arms for projectile weapons. He doesn't much use his legs for anything. Running is not his forte, he is extremely slow.
Callidos has long slender feet with long toes. His hands have long slender fingers and both his hands and feet are a bit bony. With fingers as long as his, he can easily touch his middle finger to his thumb when it's wrapped around his wrist. His body is covered with light blonde hair and it often gives the impression that he shaves since it's not as visible as dark hair is.
Callidos has a mass of light blonde hair on his head. The roots are dark and if it a faded dyed look. People refuse to believe it's natural, but callidos wouldn't honestly waste time dying his hair for absolutely no reason. The shaggy blob isn't quite long enough to reach his eyebrows, but it's almost there. He never seems to bother to brush it down straight anyways, so one wouldn't be able to tell. Callidos is constantly pushing it up into messy spikes that shoot all over his head.
His eyebrows are the same light blonde colour that the hair on his body is. The only except to that is the dark hair on his lower stomach that continues somewhere else. His eyes are a dark brown and they almost hid his small, thin eyelashes. His nose is long and a bit crooked from having it broken and not reset properly once. His lips are of average size, and a dark pink colour. Callidos has a sharply angled jaw. His teeth are perfect after years of braces, his father being able to afford them.
A silver earring hands from his left ear and he never takes it out. Callidos is pretty tan from being outside so much in the sun. He sometimes sits outside just to tan because he honestly doesn't feel like doing anything else. At times like these, you can see the scars that line his body. The biggest, most noticable one is on his right leg. It reaches from his ankle to the back of his knee. It was a spear that tore it open. His chest is lined with several small knife scratches and his left arm as a burn from another incident.
Callidos wears jeans often, unless he is tanning of it is exceptionally hot out. The accident with spear has left him keeping his legs fully covered when training. His torso is using dawning a tank top because of the hot weather in District One. Otherwise, it's usually a tank top with a jacket over it. A lot of times you will just find him shirtless. His feet are usually covered in dirt, and his toenail and fingernails are mostly filthy. He doesn't wear shoes often and is sometimes too lazy to bother to clean them.
History:The first thing you need to know about Callidos is he lacks motivation to do anything. He has never been motivated to do anything in his life. He has had no reason to be. All his life his father has told him what to do. Callidos reads because his father makes him, not because he wants to. He trains because he knows nothing else. If there is an easier way to accomplish something, he will find it. If there is a faster way, he will find it. If he didn't need to eat to survive, he wouldn't do it.
Callidos is a genius. A top of his class, off the charts IQ, genius. However, he is not actually top of his class becase he never has any interest in doing the work. But he has the potential to be top of his class if he applied himself. He is exceptional at strategy and interpreting people. He strives at planning ahead, but often lacks the motivation to. His lack of motivation seems to hold him back on everything. He doesn't have any friends. He doesn't see the need to have them. Nor does he wants to take the time to work at gaining them. Another reason he doesn't have friends seems to be his attitude towards people.
He somewhat lacks emotion. Or maybe just the determination to express it. He is generally calm all the time. His father has only seen Callidos angry once in his life. He's never really felt sad either. And he doesn't seem to know how to express happiness. He does have feelings, but his means of expressing them aren't very sufficent. Callidos is extremely honest and blunt. He inserts his opinion even when it isn't needed.
Perhaps his lack of expression and ability to remain calm help him in deciding the best way to handle certain situations. Being able to plan ahead with his intelligence, is great. But he has the ability to act on it. Often times, his father has tested him in ways that cause him to sacrifice certain pieces in a game. He's never afriad to do so. Callidos simply does whatever is best in oder for the plan to suceed.
He hates reading. He absolutely hates it. Callidos refuses to read a book if he doesn't have to. He is good with projectile weapons because that's what he trained with his entire life. His father won the games with them, so that's what he grew up with. He lacks the muscle for archery, so he doesn't even attempt it. Callidos mostly trains with knives and spears.
The only thing Callidos is really interested in are rocks, stones, and gems. Living in district 1 makes this hobby a little easier. Callidos collects all of them, but he only collects the best. The smoothest stones, the weirdest rocks, and the most perfect gems. He has and odd perception of perfection and since this seems to be the only thing he is self-motivated in doing, everything has to be perfect. No exceptions. He only has 5 in his collection.
Codeword: odairCallidos' mother gave birth to him when she was 16. Her 18-year-old boyfriend was reaped later that year. Luckily for her, he arrived home safely, the winner. Unluckily for her, he was a different person. They immediately moved in together into a house in the Victor's Village. He was a changed man, not cruel, but hard. Nothing like she remembered him. He woke up every night screaming from dreams. Sometimes, he wouldn't look at her.
She gave birth to a baby boy, and she hoped that he might change. He didn't. Her son was raised in an environment she never would have approved of. But she was powerless. Callidos grew up in a house of a Victor. He was trained with the attitude of a Victor. He was raised learning the skills of a Victor.
He was never forced to work. He didn't need to, they had plenty of money. Plenty of food. But he was trained to know what hardwork was and to understand it. His father was required to pick a hobby after the games. He choose to read, and he choose to write. Callidos' father's room was scattering with books about the games he was in that he had written. Any useful piece of information, he wrote down in his books.
Years of mentoring and studying the games made him wise. With everything he learned, he wrote it down, and he passed it onto his son. His father made him read all of it. He made him train. He made him learn and understand. Callidos' only reason for existing in this world is to survive. All his life he has been trained. For what? All these years he has never been picked. He has trained to win the games. But if that chance doesn't come, what has he been trained for?
His father writes things the Capitol doesn't know about. He writes books on rebellion. On treason. Callidos reads these too. And sometimes he wonders if his father has been training him all these years to win the Hunger Games or to be a key pawn in his rebel scheme.
His relationship with his mother is just awkward. They don't really talk unless it is absolutely needed. He was never really her son anyways. Just his father's tool. His mother was the one who wtched from the side lines. Jerica is a friend of Callidos. A close friend. Actually, not really a friend at all. They tolerate each other, but she's pretty much all he has to occupy his free time when he's not training.
