Gauge pre-incident


Gauge stands at a very lanky 6 foot 1 inch. He has thin, long arms and legs. He has a very pale complexion with dark purple circles underneath his dark brown eyes. His face usually has marks of soot due to his extended work in the factories. Gauge also has a very large scar on his left eye trailing down to his chin. It is now only a long, white, jagged line.

Gauge has very shaggy jet black hair. You can usually find pencils or some other small tools stuck behind his ears. The tips of his ratty black hair are usually singed short due to the fire in the factory.

Gauge doesn't care about his appearance often. Most of the time he is seen in his orange factory jumper, rarely changing into any other clothes. Gauge tends to tie the top half around his waist, he doesn't like sleeves when he works. He will always have a set of goggles on top of his head, just incase something needs repaired while he is around.

Gauge is an extreme introvert. He likes to get his job done and get out, he has no desire to speak to anyone he works with. Gauge is in his element when working with mechanical tools and electricity.

Gauge tends to not speak his mind. He likes to keep his head down and not get himself into any trouble, opposed to the rest of his family. His family being extremists often proclaimed their love for the Capitol and how much they enjoy making explosives for them. Gauge on the other hand never really had a set opinion on the Capitol. Every year some poor sap from the factory got Reaped.

Gauge can be annoyed very easily. He would much rather work on a large project by himself and not have anyone else touch his worth unless it's finished.

Gauge is the youngest of 4. All 3 of his brothers and sister work in the same factory. With the large amount of loud siblings he doesn't get that much time to speak.

Gauge grew up in a very loud household. Siblings arguing, parents shouting. While growing up he found his sanctuary in the backyard, picking apart old broken appliances his parents refused to use.

Gauge began working in the factory at the ripe age of 13. Following a tragic incident in the factory at the age of 15 he received a very large scar on his left side. Gauge decided that he would time himself to see how fast he could assemble a grenade. The results were disastrous. A piece of molten metal shot up from the conveyor belt and nicked him on the left side. He temporarily lost function of his left eye and regained it a year later. But, pressured by his over zealous father, he went back into the factory. The Weatherly family was known for their skills in the explosives. Land mines, grenades. You name it.
