Arelia Haddings, District 2

Arelia is fairly young, with dark, layered hair that goes down to the middle of her back, however it is usually tangled and rarely fixed up, due to Arelia's busy schedule. Arelia also sometimes puts silver highlights into her hair on special occasions, attempting to fit in with the trending Capitol fashion. She has a slightly darker tinge to her skin than the average person in District 2, this assuming because she spent a lot of time by herself down in the more southern parts of her district. Her eyes are dark and almond shaped that seem to hold a deadly glare, but are slightly too far apart to be considered 'beautiful'. Arelia's lips are in a constant purse, and she has a few freckles under her left eye, however these are hardly noticeable. Her nose is average size, and fits in nicely on her face.


Arelia's body is nothing particularly remarkable, besides the fact that she is a fairly fast runner. Because she has been training for the Hunger Games her entire life, she does have some muscle in her arms and legs, however she is still thin standing at 5'5 and weighing 105 pounds. She has great upper body strength due to this, and is a bit more agile than the average person. Arelia is, ironically, a skilled climber, even though she has a desperate fear of heights. Arelia also tends to blend in nicely, for the most part.

Arelia is strong, competitive, arrogant, determined, and secretive, with a dense fear of getting hurt. She is always loyal to those she cares about, however she tends to distance herself from getting too close to anyone in case they leave her in the end. She can also be very manipulative when it comes to rivals, as her competitive side sometimes gets the best of her. Arelia is one of those people who will do whatever it takes to win, no matter the consequences. She also is very secretive, always coming across with a bit of a mysterious vibe to her. Arelia is slightly perfectionistic as well, making sure that everything is in its rightful place.

Although Arelia may come off as cold and harsh sometimes, she is really more paranoid than anything else. She has been taught in her Career training that no one is her friend, and anyone could turn against her. Arelia is secretly extremely sensitive, and lives by the motto of, "Hurt them before they hurt you." She has never had a "best" friend, as every time someone has started to get close to her, she's pushed them away in fear of being taken advantage of. However, she has never been able to find it in her heart to do anything to hurt the person, even if she feels that they are secretly scheming against her. In reality, Arelia does wish there was a person she could trust, but she has been brought up waiting for her turn in the Hunger Games, and cannot afford anything that will possibly get in her way of them, especially since she has gotten along without close friends before. Arelia never tells anyone anything important, as it is the best way to make sure that if you ever need to use the information, it's always still there.

Finally, Arelia is determined to get what she wants, as well as more than a little bit arrogant. Although she does wish for friends, she also feels as if she doesn't really need them -- that they are only a simple want and desire in life, and that she has survived the past fifteen years solely dependent on herself. She believes that one day, after winning the Games, then she will be able to make a best friend, and possibly even a companion, however she does not need them for any reason. Although her arrogance may be a downfall since allies always work together, her determinaion may push her through. When Arelia wants something, she will do anything to get it, no matter the sacrifice. This perserverence is probably Arelia's most dominant trait, as it outweighs her loyalty, arrogance, and even paranoia. It is a curse and a gift, almost, but it is definitely something that Arelia embraces instead of running away from.

Arelia appears perfectly "normal" compared to the average District 2 citizen. She has a mother and a father, and a younger brother named Chelt. Arelia's father had wanted to be a Hunger Games victor, however he had never had the chance to volunteer or be selected for the Games. This rubbed off on Arelia and Chelt, and now both want to live up to their father's standards, and fulfill his dream for him. This would explain why Arelia started her Career training at the young age of 4.

Before Arelia began training, she would run off and play by herself, just spending time down in the sun, near the trees in the southern part of District 2. Her parents at first thought it was slightly abnormal that she did not want to play with the other children, especially as this continued on until she was about ten. Arelia then began to, really focus more on her training, and didn't have as much time to herself. Until the age of ten, training was mostly just warm-ups, running, and exercises. Then the real work began.

Arelia had never really had a closest friend, as most of the other kids her age did. She'd at one point been closest to three other girls, when she was about eleven. After they left her for someone "more like them", Arelia was left almost devastated. Although she'd learned in training not to trust anyone, she felt as if those girls were the closest she'd ever gotten to anyone -- and they were. After this event, Arelia's paranoia really began. She became even more detached from her surroundings, and almost felt like an emotional zombie when it came to sentimental things. To this day, Arelia still has yet to overcome this OCD paranoia, however normal she may seem.

Arelia's main weapon is the simple dagger -- she usually sneaks up on people and stabs them, however she can also throw one.
