Post by sierra on Feb 13, 2012 19:03:20 GMT -5
Name: Sierra
Age: 15
Gender: Female
District/Area: District 2
Appearance:
Played by Misako Aoki she is a Japanese girl with long dark brown hair and brown eyes. She is slightly on the tall side for a Japanese woman at 5'4 but is rather thin. She is known for wearing adorable clothing and being something of a poster child for the District.
She is most commonly seen in lolita style clothing. This clothing represents youthfulness and she feel's most at home in the vestiges of the Rocco era in France.
On the field she does wear different clothes however. Most clothes that she would wear for the Games would be what she was given or if she chose camouflage based. She is rather thin and has long legs. Her eyes are very bright though whether or not its false remains to be seen. She does have a scar on her wrist that is in the process of fading from an unfortunate accident. She uses make-up to keep it concealed as best she can. Though sometimes she forgets too.
She secretly wishes she meshed in more with the other girl's her age. She has an appearance that to her anyway, makes her feel like she stands out. She went through a phase of wanting to be more rustic where she ditched her typical clothing for t-shirt's and simple skirt's or jeans topped by a camouflage hat and jacket. She began to realize she was more vulnerable without her usual attire and once again painted on the doll make-up and donned the outfits.
[/blockquote]Personality:
Sweet and charming to most, or at least to the public. She is portrayed often in poster's as sweet and innocent yet she is a lot tougher than she looks.
She does have a bad side and is very militant when placed in certain situations. Coming from the district known for producing weapons she does have an affinity for them. Based on the situation she is placed in, she may refuse to trust anyone around her. Though she is not above feigning it in order to stay alive.
She can be a little stand-offish to those she does not know in general. Though usually if they ask for a picture or do get try to get to know her she will meet them half-way. However, she is the last person one wants to get mad as she had a "I don't get mad, I get even," policy.
Playing a doll for too long causes her to sometimes believe the lies told to her. She is in tune to reality as far as how bad things might get and is not a huge fan of being placed on parade. She is determined that if she dies it's going to be worth something. That her death will mean something to someone. She occasionally snaps at people, more so under stress lately as she is being pushed towards the games. She sees her life as living a war. In a violence infested era she hopes that the images or video's of her will at least help someone. But, the reality is they don't help her.
Secretly, she cries herself to sleep at night. However, she has yet to tell anyone this. She once tried to hurt herself but, this was wiped from the records, or rather chalked up to an unfortunate accident resulting in her spending a week in the hospital. What people did not want to see was the cry for help present in her action. She doesn't have as many friends to confide in and the loneliness can eat her up. She can have a darker view on life despite her appearance.[/blockquote]History:
She was born in District 2 to the town's mayor candidate, Hunter Cross. Her father became mayor for a year and then did not run again. However, her image was so used by magazine's and in other place's that her father was asked by the Capitol to allow her to continue her work. She has even appeared most recently in promotional material for the games itself.
Her mother is a local teacher and a Hunger Games past winner. She is not in the limelight as much as her daughter is. Ling Cross was unfortunate in some ways to be blessed with only girl's. Sierra's sister's are Mabel and Alexis. Only one, Mabel is nearing reaping age.
Sierra was sent to school to train for the games. There is some speculation that because of her popularity her father was payed off to send his daughter to become a career.Sierra suspects this and sometimes gets into fights with her father as she felt she was auctioned off to some extent. Sierra, originally known as another name, was given this new one by a Capitol representative as it was easier to pronounce anyway.
She was not reaped, and was in fact told to hold off on volunteering until recently. She herself is unsure how she feels about it, and at times wishes she could rebel but it's not possible. At 15, she has been trained in combat, stealth, and survival, something which would not be suggested by her looks. It is assumed that she will be representing District 2 in the next games.[/blockquote]Codeword: odair

In her words:
A flash. A smile. A coo from the cameraman. And in the end an image, reprinted on a poster. One you'll see as you walk the street. A face and a person you think you know. But, you don't know me...and you never will.
I am more than an image. I am a girl trapped in an era where violence is the only way to survive. Behind this mask...is someone who could become a killer. A girl who may one day wind up on TV, standing where your precious son or daughter once stood last year. And I won't be the girl in the image anymore.
I am the girl in the frilly dresses, her bowed headband's perched jauntily on her head. I am the girl with the cute accent that makes the Capitol women sigh.
But, I am more than that. My hands will be stained with blood. My body aching from fatigue. They've already told me...
and even though the image may disturb you...the girl you saw on the poster that day...she will be covered in blood. And to this day, my mind still hasn't accepted that thought.

Ain't even grey, but she buries her baby

The sharp knife of a short life, well
I've had just enough time
If I die young, bury me in satin
Lay me down on a bed of roses
Sink me in the river at dawn
Send me away with the words of a love song

A penny for my thoughts, oh no, I'll sell 'em for a dollar
They're worth so much more after I'm a goner
And maybe then you'll hear the words I been singin'
Funny when you're dead how people start listenin'
If I die young, bury me in satin
Lay me down on a bed of roses
Sink me in the river at dawn
Send me away with the words of a love song
