If someone tried to spot James in a crowd, it would be impossible, due to the fact that he is only 5’7. James makes up for being a short guy with his cute baby face, which is framed by slightly wavy brown hair. His facial features include dull brown eyes, a long nose and a rather too-big smile. James has deep lines which make him look older than his mere 20 years, and the lines around him mouth highlight his brilliant white teeth. Although James has retained a few scars from acne gone by, he still has gads of freckles under his eyes along with a jagged scar just behind his right ear.

James’ clothing varies upon the occasion, but usually you will see him wearing grays, blues, blacks, and silver, but only when he wants to be noticed. His height usually aids him in not being seen, the only thing that makes him visible are his clothes colors. Usually, James wears a soft, forest green shirt with black pants and knee length boots, made from the finest leather to be found. His hair is often windblown and doesn’t stay very neat, due to the fact that he is working in the diamond mine all day, building his muscles. James’ skin, which is coated in a thick layer of dirt and sweat due to the fact that he doesn't really think bathing is important, makes his skin look darker than it really is.

James has many amiable qualities, but anyone who is not close to him will not see these traits, and only see the outward portrayal that James makes for himself. He is a sly, lying playboy, who is lazy and doesn’t see much need in necessary things, he just likes to drink and party all night. At least, that is how he would like himself to be, and that is really how he’s acting at this point in his life. This inside feelings are not like this, but he wants to be a “bad ass” so he acts evil and gets reprimanded and in trouble and things. Really, James is a whole different person on the inside.
James also can be sympathetic, sly, and cocky all at the same instant. His likeable traits are often hidden by his may-the-best-man-win outlook on life. When with someone he knows very well and trusts explicitly, James will often open up and show his kind, fun, and loveable sense of humor. He also likes to show off a lot. James’s good traits include being a loving, kind, thoughtful, slightly quirky, humoristic, dare devilish, and smart guy.
James has many hobbies, some of which include going to parties, reading fiction books, flirting, getting money, and trying to portray himself as someone he is not. While keeping this “portrayal” of himself, James’ real personality includes being a playboy who likes to move around with his girls, when he has them. He is usually fun to be around if you know him well, otherwise he acts sullen and is acting like another person most of the time. Only his parents and his dog know the real person he hides behind that façade.

My history is rather complicated, as I have lived with multiple families. I have a pet dog about the size of a wolf, with fluffy white fur and black paws, as well as ice blue eyes and a grey face named Sasha. I have no siblings. Sometimes I’ve felt that I would like a sibling, in case I got reaped and then killed in the games. Oh yeah, and I really hate the whole idea and concept of the games, but I try not to show it, as I know it would get me killed, and if I do get reaped, I’d be virtually sponsor-less. But who knows, maybe sponsors like the rebels, and in that case, I’d start acting like I hate the games, which would actually be what I think of them.
Now, onto my story. My parents like to help out others when they can. Unfortunately, my family was so into helping others that they somehow managed to help out a band of thieves and steal money and food from the Capitol, which got them arrested. My father spent what seemed like a lifetime in prison, and it was finally a year ago that he got let out and we finally went back to normal lives. Being an only child has been hard, but I don’t really mind it. My father and mother are rather selfish, and didn’t want to have another child, which is what I’ve forced myself to believe. I hate the fact that they only wanted me and not a little girl or even a boy for me to have to give my wisdom too. Hah, foolish to think of wisdom when you’re only 17, but I have felt that they gave our family the short end of the stick.
We thought that the bout in prison would overcome my father’s selfishness, because my mother was cowed after that, and has decided that the world does not revolve around her. But unfortunately, my father didn’t overcome his selfishness and began beating up on mum and I, because he hated our lives and really didn’t think he needed us, I don’t even know. I tried to protect mum as often as I could, but when Dad got into his rages, he usually couldn’t stop until he passed out cold on the floor. And then, days later, we would all be somehow reconciled and totally fine, until he went drinking again. Because of this, my mother got so tired of it that one day she told the Peacekeepers about it, and they immediately began bouncing me around to different families, and I, in turn, got to experience a new life with siblings, though they weren’t actually related to me. However, because of the other kids and teens I’ve met, I learned to be a more…selfless person, since there were kids younger than me who needed guidance in life, and usually our foster parents weren’t that attentive, since they were helping out so many people. I understand this and do not wish them any hard feelings. But finally, after many years, my father and mother resolved my dad’s problem, and I was able to live with them again. Since that time, my father has become a quiet man, has taken on a new hobby of making jewelry for the Capitol,( some of which I take when no one sees, thank God for being short otherwise I’d be long dead for stealing by now) refuses to even look at drinks, and loves my mother and I dearly. I don’t know what they did to him in the Capitol to reverse his ways, but it must have been so excruciating to make him change his ways that he’s never told us, and to be honest, I really don’t want to even think about it.
