Rumiel Ruiz - District 2

White skin, but can tan with ease. Dark blonde hair; his hair is long enough so it covers his forehead as a fringe and his ears, but doesn’t go further than his earlobes. His eyes are big and brown and his eyebrows are bushy. He suffers from acne but it’s controlled due to daily washing and applying cream to the affected areas. Can grow dark facial hair, but prefers to shave often. Pointy nose makes his features stick out more.

He has a height of 5’6’’ and weight of 62kg. He’s not skinny but not overweight either; has a bit of baggage on his stomach but it’s barely noticeable. Has beauty-spots over his chest and arms. Strong arms, they are just slightly muscular. He has hairy legs and a birth mark on his inner-right thigh.

Rumiel is overall a kind character. He is known for being helpful and is always willing to give advice, even if he’s not experienced in the topic himself. This relentless aim to help people can sometimes get the better of him, thus causing him to block interaction with the people around him and refusal to give out advice. He’s easily hurt (emotionally), he recovers very fast but he never forgets those who tried to harm him.

He’s not a sporty kind of person, preferring to talk rather than play; very analytical with everything he sees. When it’s not sport-related, he’s very competitive; this competitiveness can lead to fallouts with friends and stress. Very academic, he proves this by achieving very high marks in most exams, though he shows no interest in the history of his country.

He has a lot of patience when it comes to teaching or helping, but very little when it’s about things that he does not agree with. Though he gets angry very rarely, when he does, he still takes the analytical approach when dealing with a situation, knowing that going head-on into it isn’t a good idea. With a ‘leader’-like personality, he can convince people to do what he sees best or take control of a group, especially when in a competition.

Born and raised in district 2, he started off being a follower. His father took pride where he lived and his mother never said anything about the situation they were in. They had a normal life in the centre of the district; they managed to survive due to his father’s high-rank in the stone mines, therefore allowing him to have a hot meal on the table nearly every night. As the years went on, he realised that the country he lived in wasn’t as good as he thought; the injustice of The Hunger Games and the better life of the citizens of the Capitol made him re-consider following the strict way of life his father wanted for him.

During his first reaping at the age of 12, one of his best friends was chosen; this put an end to Rumiel’s positive thoughts about the government. From then on, he became a rebel to his district; quietly cursing those in favour of such a cruel system while doing his work and trying to keep out of trouble. Now and again though, he causes damage to Peacekeeper property with other rebels; something that’s very unlike him, therefore he is never suspected.

Now he’s 16 and is planning on leaving the District as soon as he’s 18. Knowing it’s more like a suicide mission, he’s trying to plan his escape while playing along with the ‘game’ that is society itself. He trains with the other children who eagerly participate in the training, just in case he gets chosen for the reaping, therefore getting stronger and developing a skill with sharp objects such as daggers and swords. He’s noticed that he’s particularly good at camouflaging and stealth, unlike the other children in the district, most of whom prefer to attack face-on.
