Age: 17

District/Area: District 4
Appearance:
Personality:Typhon towers over a lot of the guys his age, standing at 6’2, weighing 195 lbs, and most likely not finished growing. He had always been one of the taller kids, but hit some pretty large growth spurts within recent years. He has sparkling, hazel eyes and shaggy dark brown hair that almost always looks like a rattled nest due to the amount of time he spends in the ocean.
His time in the water actually dictates most of his appearance, as it does for many citizens of District 4. His skin is very tanned from many hours in the sun and his body is muscular and lean from a lifetime of swimming and diving.
Due to his jovial nature and a lifetime of smiling, laugh lines are just beginning to make appearances on Typhon’s face on the edges of his eyes and mouth, giving him dimples. A year or two ago, Typhon’s facial hair started to come in, and as he doesn’t care much for shaving, he often sports a scruffy, beach bum sort of look.
He doesn’t care much for dressing up either since he spends most of his time in the water. The best you can usually find him in are swim trunks and tank tops. If it’s an EXTRA special occasion though, he might be convinced to actually wear a shirt with sleaves.
History:Typhon is one of those genuine, hard working people with a heart of gold. From a young age he became the central rock of his family after his older brother’s death. He puts on a strong face every day and tries to keep everyone around him happy and laughing with his jokes and over all goofy demeanor.
As jovial and kind as Typhon usually is, his one flaw would be his temper. It takes a lot to send this kid over the edge, but once he’s gone, that’s it. He knows how to hold a grudge and will shut down and brood for days if the line has been crossed. He explodes like this usually because he keeps all of his feelings, other than that happy façade, bottled up until he just can’t bare it any longer and almost anything can send him off one he’s at this point.
Despite the sorrows of the world around him, Typhon is determined to maintain a positive outlook for the benefit of those around him. He is a born leader and is very protective of those close to him, especially his family.
Since his brother’s death in the Games 7 years ago, Typhon has developed a strong, secret hate for the Capitol and the Games. One of the driving factors of his hardworking nature is in fact to ensure the neither he or his sister have to sign up for the Tesserae, although he has still had to do it once or twice.
Codeword: OdairTyphon grew up in one of the lesser parts of District 4 and started working from a young age on his father’s small fishing boat along with his grandfather and older brother, Taryn. More than anyone else, Typhon looked up to Taryn and the two were partners in crime since Typhon was a toddler. Sadly, when Typhon was 10, his brother at 14 years old was reaped for the Hunger Games and did not come out the victor. Until then, the Games had seemed like something to look forward to each year, as the district did often produce victors. It had been almost fun even, rooting District 4 on to victory. All that changed with Taryn’s death however.
Though Typhon took the loss of his brother the hardest, this became the catalyst for him to look after his family. He made it his life mission to never see his family, or anyone if he could help it, that devastated and broken again. This is why he’ll do almost anything to get someone to crack a smile, especially his little sister Tara. After their brother’s death, Tara became attached to Typhon’s hip as he had once been to his brother.
He works on his father’s boat every morning before and every evening after school, and as well as his weekends, doing everything he can to make sure he nor his sister has to sign up for tesserae. He hasn’t had much time for friends since he spends all his spare time at sea with his father, and now his sister who helps sometimes. Even though he may not be close to many people, you can still ask almost anyone at the docks and they’ll have nothing but praise for “that smiley boy”.
He swore that he would never let another family member die to the games, but of course that isn’t a decision for him to make, it’s the Capitol’s. And worse yet, they’ve had a smaller haul than usual fishing this year and the tesserae is going to be a must.
