Quiet and sullen, she's filled with the silence of a thousand midnights. Broody and gothic, her mood swings violently between rage and despair.
Mama first had her twin, Isadora, and held the baby in her arms. Then came Arabelle, and soon after her mother died. Born a killer, the girl decided it was her love for her mother that caused her to die - that anybody who grew close to her would, in the end, hurt and leave her in the same way. Soon, she became convinced that she had to sever the ties she had to other humans before they grew strong enough to break her.
She and Isadora trained to be healers in the years that preceded their father's murder. Killing the only parent she had; a man she depended on and loved so much was far easier than she thought it would be. Quickly, she grew manic and paranoid.
In time, Arabelle had grown close to her sister. They lived together, alone, in a small house on the edge of the District, healing others for a small fee. They practised witchcraft - the good kind - however it seemed only Isadora was able to fix anyone. Their relationship began to develop into something further, and Arabelle decided that the reliance she had on her sister was dangerous.
As hard as she tried, she couldn't kill Issy. She lit the match and blew it out, laced the drink and then tipped it away, collected the gun and the locked it tightly in the drawer. That perilous hold was growing stronger by the day. It was then that Arabelle decided to switch to dark magic. She was convinced that if she chanted and mixed herbs just right, her problems would be solved. Soon after, her sister fell ill.
No longer able to heal others, the incompetent Arabelle became the face of their business, following the advice of her frail sister and forging her skill. She was failing at everything; no longer a competent killer, a useless healer, a bad witch, an estranged lover and a wretched person. To slow down the pain, she continued trying. To take her sisters life; end Isadora's suffering and pain. And to quicken the course of the bitter blow she knew was coming.
