Zia Saldane District 6

Zia is somewhat tall, like she has been stretched out. She often draws herself up to her full height, d looks slim but slightly roly poly. This roly-poliness is balanced out by the blue clothes she often wears. She looks like a cat. This catlikeness is characterized by a unique cocking of the head.

Zia has slightly tanned skin, chestnut brown hair with gold highlights that she was born with and layers, and expressive brown eyes. Her smile is like a sunbeam. She never shows her teeth when she smiles. A stylist would get into a shouting match with Zia over her body hair. Zia's appearance is marred by a very bad case of acne and a 9-stitch scar over her right eye. However, Zia thinks of herself as somewhat of a beauty, but wishes the acne would go away.

Zia is really a kind person, but she doesn't look like it. She is cold, regal, and elegant, like she is above her surroundings. She is always on the lookout for any information. This is because she was teased as a youth. She finds that information about possible teasers helps prevent the teasing in the first place.

Zia is very kind in private though, with intelligence and strength of character. She vehemently hates injustice and has a sarcastic sense of humor. She is rather emotional.

However, Zia has a sharp temper and fierce sense of protectiveness. This is triggered by insults against her, her family, and those she cares about. She generally uses her stare of death when confronted and hurls old-fashioned insults at her befuddled enemies. She is a compulsive nailbiter and picks at scabs.

She balances out her personalities by having a public and a private self. In public, she shows her cold and regal side, the side that puts up a lot of bluster. But in private, she lets her kind funny self show. She will always help a person in need. On this count, the occasion is irrelevant. Zia is also mortally afraid of all insects but butterflies and dragonflies.

Zia's parents are chemists who know quite a lot about the world around them. She once had a sister, Maya, who was 2 years older. Maya was inseperable from Zia. They taught Zia quite a lot about her world. Under their care, Zia grew into a tall, talented girl.

However, Maya was reaped when Zia was 10. Her father soon committed suicide, and zia began inventing random devices to support the family. Some of these objects include a homemade stencil for cake decorating. A vehement hate of the Capitol was awakened. To this day, Zia has had a penchant for playing pranks on certain unintelligent peacekeepers and informers.

Zia enjoys knitting, the stars, dance, the flute, and mathematics. She is an accomplished singer and once sang for the victor after her sister's Games. This was an especially heartrending experience for her. She copes by painting portraits of her sister. These portraits could be an excellent source of money, but she refuses to sell them.
