(Pippali Lolot Fennel) {District SIX}

Pip is tall and gangly, with arms and legs hugely out of proportion to the rest of her body. Her skin is a matte white color, and her entire body is webbed with a series of small blue veins. She is so pale that her skin is almost transparent. The only amount of color on her body is located on her cheeks (which are red from rosacea) and her fingers, toes, elbows and knees (which are red from her being constantly cold).

Her hair is rather stringy and is a nice straw color, and she usually wears it in a high bun which falls out, allowing a mess of fly-away hair to go about her face and neck. Due to a few broken noses as a child, she has a rather large bump on her nose, which offsets her features, and she also has a large gap in between her teeth.

Her eyes are a beautiful, warm, chestnut color, and she considers them to be her best feature. While she does have rather unattractive features, she looks almost normal when they're put together. Almost.

She doesn't really like fancy clothing. You will usually spot her wearing something simple, probably a jacket and a button up shirt with a pair of slacks. She doesn't let herself get sloppy by any accounts, though, save for her untamable hair that goes wild despite her attempts at breaking it.

Her fingers and toes are always a bright shade of crimson due to the fact that she is always cold, which she tries to dispel by covering herself completely, however the attempts are futile.

Pip is a very self-conscious person. She spends a lot of time in front of the mirror critiquing herself. She is smart enough to know that it shouldn't matter, but she can't help herself. She uses makeup to hide some of the most prominent flaws in her body, and while most of them aren't very noticeable, she was made fun of constantly as a child and therefore tries her hardest to cover them.

She is a little shy when you first meet her, but she tends to open up immensely upon getting her to talk. She's very likeable, and though she can get a little annoying if you let her go off on a rant, she is funny and has a great sense of humor.

She's also very quick witted, and though she looks very withdrawn, she can usually slap a quick-witted comeback to any insult that she's given, something that earned her a few friends growing up, and dismissed a few bullies in the process.

She has sort of an addictive personality however, as evidenced by her obsession with makeup. She also feels the need to take up a new hobby every so often. Her current one is wood-carving.

She is very smart, but a bit of an underachiever. She puts off schoolwork to read books and draw, and though she's completely aware of the fact that she's doing a disservice to herself, she can't help it. She simply can't control her procrastination. This applies to a lot of other areas in her life as well.

Do to the fact that she is such an underachiever, she will occasionally have spurts of productivity which usually result in tiredness. She likes to sleep a lot when this happens, and it's best not to disturb her. A tired Pip is an angry Pip.

Pip's mother and father were both morphling addicts, and by the time she was born, her father had committed suicide. For the first few years of her life, Pip had to scrounge around to feed herself while her mother immersed herself in trifles like painting and sketching. Pip asked for help numerous times, but her mother always seemed to ignore her attempts to reach her in her stupor, which was brought on by the morphling. Pip was very young when she approached a peacekeeper and told him that her mother was sick. The peacekeeper investigated and took action.

Her mother was deemed 'unfit' to raise her, and while she tried her best to negotiate with the peacekeepers (promising them to kick her addiction and get a job), they took Pip to a community home where she grew up in relative comfort.

Pip's unusual appearance is due to the fact that her mother was a morphling addict while she was pregnant with her, which gave Pip almost unnatural pale skin and dark, blue veins that webbed across her entire body. She was made fun of this a lot while she was growing up, and though she was never rich, used a lot of the money that she had from working as a cleaner in the group home to buy all sorts of powders and creams to help hide her unusual complexion.

When she turned 12, the group home dismissed her and she moved into a small house with three others who were older than her. She had grown up with them, however, and as she had a job (working the files at a physician's office), she was permitted to live there as long as she didn't make any trouble. Technically, she is still a ward of the state, but her guardian is a woman named Brie, who is 21 years old.

She decided that she wanted to become a doctor by observing the work that she had seen in the physician's office. She asked if she could be the doctor's apprentice, but she needed some form of higher education, so she quickly enrolled back in school.

She continues to work her way through school and living, despite her odd habit of buying a new makeup whenever she sees one at the general store (if she can afford it).
