Crystal Burns, District 2

Crystal is not skinny, but she is most certainly not big. She is 5'8", and has straight blonde hair, which is most likely one of her most attractive features. She also has blue eyes. Her slightly dainty figure proves she does not eat a whole lot. Her skin is slightly tan, from her being out in the sun all day, though her skin doesn't burn easily.

Her nose is quite thin, mainly at the bridge, and she has a resemblance to her mother, with long fingers that are quite well at tying knots, building small things quickly, etc. Her thin lips are often dry, though she does not pay much attention to it. She is quite strong, even though her dainty figure seems otherwise. Her hair has some natural dark streaks. And, her thin earlobes easily sway in the wind, strangely.

Crystal's personality is very strange for one of District 2. She is not immodest or quick to judge, and most certainly not arrogant. Her anger is rarely shown. This, is usually because she is more sad and depressed then mad, which causes her impulses of lonliness.

She gets lonely often, and doesn't feel connected and open to her two brothers or mother and father. Especially her father, who is one of the more strict peacekeepers stationed in District 11. His harshness drives him away from her even if Crystal hasn't seen him in weeks. He is also very abusive to his family, which is another large factor to Crystal's mood swings.

She hates all peacekeepers, including her father, and really, doesn't open up much to anyone. Crystal is madly in love with animals, however, and finds herself with them all of the time. Strangely enough, Mockingjays are the animals she loves most of all, because her ability to sing makes them attracted to her, and visa verca. As Crystal grows older, however, she sees them less and less, which is what makes her angered the most.

Ever since she was a little girl, Crystal has found herself madly in love with animals. She used to try and be with them as much as possible. She found herself usually with them when her brothers were off building weapons, and her mother was with her father as a peacekeeper. Her love for them fuels her to go and open herself out to the world, giving the rest of her family less hope in her, as she proves to be a disgrace.

When she was young, Crystal always had dreamed of one of her brothers in particular getting picked for the Hunger Games. After awhile, this made her deathly scared of each and every Hunger Games, even before she herself was involved with the Reaping. In ever Reaping, she often found herself shaking in fear of the inevitable.


Since age 11, she has been showing signs of reconnecting to the world slowly, as if there was an actual chance. At age 13, she believed there was a chance, and by age 15, she was much happier then she though she would ever be.


Crystal herself has always hated the Hunger Games since those dreams, but nothing eventful every truly came to be in the first part of her life. However, she found herself madly in love with one of her schoolmates, and could never seem to get over him.
