Harper Glenning, District 1

Harper has dark green eyes that are observant and take everything in. She has dark eyelashes, long and curled with light brown eyebrows matching the roots of her hair. Her nose is thin and points up almost like a pixie and her lips aren't too thick, but they always seem to be pulled up in a smirk. Harper has medium brown wavy hair long past her shoulders to the middle of her back. It's thick, but not frizzy and always falls perfectly into place around her face. Her ears are a tad big compared to the rest of her, but she tries to hide that with her hair.

Harper has an average build being about 5'5 and weights 110 lbs. She has some curves, but they're not too much to look at. Her skin isn't pale, she's slightly tanned and has no freckles. She has one birthmark; a little heart shaped mark right below her right cheek bone. It particularly stands out when she blushes which is frequently.

Harper likes to have fun. She is slightly sarcastic and always seems to have a smirk on her lips which usually tells you she's amused. If she does something wrong; which is often; she'll deny it through and through and won't stop until she's caught red handed but will continue to keep the innocent smile on her face. She laughs a lot, always having a good time and doing anything to get there, which can get her into trouble. She's mischievous and has a little rebellion in her that she likes to express on occasion.

Harper likes others to think she's strong, and doesn't like showing weakness to anyone. Though is afraid of somethings she tries to push that down far inside her when the time comes. She tends to act like she doesn't care if she hurts your feelings but in reality she doesn't like hurting people. She is stubborn and good at holding a grudge so you don't want to get on her bad side.

Harper has a wee bit of a temper and when you set her off it's hard to calm her down. She won't stop in a fight until she knows she's won, but she won't fight unless she feels it's worth it. If she has a point, she will prove it and do whatever it takes.

Harper is also I bit of a manipulator. She hates when things don't go her way so she does what it takes to get it that way. She knows she is good looking and uses this to her advantage. Along with her eyes and her ability to lie about anything she will get what she wants, when she wants no questions asked. She is kind of spoiled in this way, so when she doesn't get what she wants... she gets nasty.

Harper was born to a small family, just her mother and father. Her parents were drunks who never wanted a child, and very abusive towards her. They never showed her affection which could be why she likes attention now, but she is very nurturing surprisingly. When she was young her father wanted to get rid of her. He tried to drown her during the night while her mom stood by and watched. Of course he did not succeed but now Harper is petrified of water, though she would never admit to that.

When Harper was eight her mother had another child, a girl named Alli. Harper cared for her sister like she was her mother and loved her sister dearly. When her sister was three and Harper was eleven, Alli refused to stop crying in the middle of the night. Harper hid in her bed under the covers when her father walked in, pretending to sleep. Her dad used Alli's blanket to suffocate and kill her and Harper witnessed the whole thing. Harper now will not sleep with a blanket and no one knows why.

When Harper turned twelve her member was stabbed by a gang mother and her father went after the guy who killed her mother. Her father died that night while Harper was at home in bed, oblivious to what had happened. She thought maybe the murder of her parents could be a blessing in disguise, but she was wrong. Harper was sent to an orphanage where the children looked at her as a guide or motherly figure. Only one child there was older than her, but he didn't care about the children. Only about himself.

The owner of the orphanage is even worse, very abusive and does nothing to provide for the many kids he is care taker of. Harper needs money for food and resorts to 'selling herself'. She flirts with vendors, bakers, shop owners sons, anyone who can get her what she wants; takes what she needs, but never honors her side of the deal which gets her into trouble.

Harper is a very good cook because of her time spent caring for little children, and sometimes hears 'voices' in her head of things past said to her by her parents or the owner of the orphanage. The voices don't have much effect on her... yet.
