Age: 16
Gender: Female
District/Area: District 2
Appearance:
As a citizen from District two, Kimberlite is quite small. She stands at only five feet two inches and weighs one hundred and ten pounds. As long as she can remember she has been underestimated based on her stature. Being the child of a previous victor she has been pushed since birth to be prepared for the games, in result her naturally small body is surprisingly strong. The gymnastics she does as a part of her career training helps her build strength she will need if she is ever reaped for The Hunger Games.Personality:
Everyone in Kimberlite’s family shares the same olive skintone and dark eye color. Her dark brown hair stands out against the blonde hair and blue eyes of district two. The mystery of her unusual looks mirrors essentially everything about her. Kimberlite lets no emotion show through her physical demeanor and is completely unreadable. On the rare occasion that she decides to show emotion and smiles, her beauty radiates.
Kimberlite’s quiet personality is sometimes interpreted as shyness, although this assumption is the furthest thing from the truth. Since childhood her parents instilled in her the importance of being strong and in control. This control is the most important thing to her, this need for control is apparent in every aspect of her life. On the occasion that Kimberlite makes her opinion known, it’s very harsh and sarcastic. She’s quick to judge and even quicker to make a harsh remark.History:
Kimberlite thrives on secrets. Her mysterious demeanor masks the many layers that she doesn’t want anyone to see. There’s a layer of harsh brutality that is very shocking on a girl of her physical size. On the rare occasions that she gets very angry and loses control, Kimberlite can be a sadistic person. During these moments she doesn’t care who she hurts, physically or emotionally.
Down a little deeper there’s a layer of fear. This fear never comes to the surface; Kimberlite has too much shelf-control for that. Although it’s never shown there are moments when that fear chips away at her and threatens to turn Kimberlite into the small weak girl that she has internally fought her whole life to dismiss. Weakness is her biggest fear; she has been trained to believe that as soon as you’re weak, you’re dead. Weakness is not an option.
Kimberlite Meyers was born during the fourty-forth Hunger Games to a victor and a stonemason. Joanne Meyers, previously Joanne Johnson, was reaped during the thirty-ninth Hunger Games. As a career from District two, she won. Five years later she had a small baby girl with her husband, Scott Meyers. He worked as a stonemason for the district. The couple named their daughter Kimberlite, after a rock that contained diamonds, they felt that this was perfect for their fragile baby girl.Codeword: odair
As the girl grew up she proved to be less fragile than expected. At the age of nine her mother left her father and Kimberlite. She took it upon herself to grow up as fast as possible. On her eleventh birthday the small girl’s father began to train her for the Hunger Games, a fight to the death that occurred in their country every year. The pair felt that going into the Hunger Games would finally be proof that the woman that had left them many years before wasn’t the only strong one in the family.
The years of brutal training molded the once fragile girl into a beautiful shell of a person, completely closing off the whole world. This is the way she liked it. She believed that if you let someone in you were automatically given another weakness, you gave someone the opportunity to shatter you. These beliefs completely eliminated the prospect of having friends for Kimberlite. This was a reality she accepted a long time ago. She was alone; aside from her father, whom continued to push her harder everyday.
