Whyhan Talez, District 2 (FIN)

Whyhan is a 6'2'' boy who weighs 155 lbs. He has straight black hair split in the middle and black eyes. Whyhan is considered a nerd because of his nerdy appearance, the usual glasses and odd clothes. He wears blue and grey collared shirts and pants, and tucks his shirt in. His arm was lost in an earthquake when he was 7 years old.

Despite his appearance, Whyhan is very strong and can lift heavy weights. His lack of agility is made up for in his strength. He is quite athletic, unlike his sister, Hailie. If his nerdiness is overlooked, he could very likely be considered one of the strongest boys in his grade. But, no one gives a second thought to his strength.

Whyhan is a clever and cunning boy who wins by outsmarting others. He gets around bully treatment by playing mind games and other smart moves. Almost every teacher in Whyhan's school favors him, because of his charming personality. Whyhan can be stuck up, due to the fact that he gets whatever he wants as long as he behaves and his grades are high. Many people are afraid to befriend him because he is a nerd, but he would be a good friend to them.

He does not trust people easily, because of the number of people who have turned him down in the past. Whyhan rarely gives into peer pressure, and is not easily tricked. He does not forgive others a lot, since he does not want any untrustworthy friends. Whyhan is easily saddened by death and loss, but tries to act like he doesn't care in public, even though he does.

Whyhan is very impatient and hates waiting. He also dislikes social activities and prefers being alone and studying. Occasionally, he hangs out with other nerdy friends like him. He has a horrible sense of humor, but he doesn't try to crack jokes all the time. Whyhan despises jocks and clique girls, who attempt to bully him but almost always fail. He sometimes tricks the bullies to do stupid things to publicly embarrass them as revenge for something they did to him.

Whyhan was born a healthy, happy child in a healthy, happy life, until an earthquake struck his home when he was 7 and caused him to lose his arm when a building collapsed on top of him. The rest of his body remained with only some minor injuries, but his left arm was crushed by the brick walls of his house. This injury often sparked bullying, which was when Whyhan learned to deceive others to escape bad situations. He made many clever comebacks that turned the humiliation to the bullies side. Eventually, people decided to give up on bullying Whyhan.

Once, after winning first in a math competition, Whyhan lost his favorite pin. Years later, it was returned to him. This gave him the idea that when bad things happen, maybe all is not lost. Whyhan is very good at sketching, but everyone ignores his talent to love his classmate Anferer's drawings, even though Anferer is a worse drawer. When there was a drawing contest held by his school, Whyhan's grade elected Anferer to draw, and in the end, lost. Whyhan's grade could have won if he were chosen, though.

When Whyhan started training for the Hunger Games, he discovered that he was a quite talented swords-fighter. Lack of accuracy was replaced in the strength of blows. At school, he accomplishes many things and does many great acts, but others have taken the credit for themselves. He gets straight A's and is always the teacher's pet.
