Appearance:
Darius is muscular young man as he lives in District 1. His skin is tanned since he prefers to train for the games outside in the sunlight than in one of the facilities. Darius is about five foot eleven inches weighing about 150 pounds. In order to keep himself fit, Darius trains almost every day. His face is shaped like an oval with medium sized lips on it.
Darius's hair is an ashy black color. Rather than getting it cut short, he prefers it to be longer with a few strands of it falling in his eyes. His eyes are an ugly shade of mud brown. He blames his mother for this. Darius has thick eyebrows along with one large right ear. His left ear was cut off in a training accident causing him to go deaf. Darius's nose has a scar running across it from the same accident he lost his ear in.
On average Darius wears a pair of jeans and boots. He tops that off with a normal black t-shirt. Darius will wear a leather jacket when the weather is colder. For the reaping he wears a new suit that his parents bought him. He trades his boots for a nicer pair of sneakers. Instead of just letting his hair lay in a messy heap he'll brush it and comb it back for a more professional look.
Personality:
Darius can be a self conceived jerk expect if you are his immediate family or girlfriend. Which mind you, he rarely gets any of. Darius thinks he is better than most other people despite his disability in the hearing department. He feels that losing his ear was a gift very few people would ever receive making him one of the greatest. Even if he feels that way, Darius despises the loss of his ear. Darius has told his parents it makes him seem weaker than he really is. Indeed it does to, he is no longer as effective a fighter which Darius is in denial about.
One thing Darius likes to do is flirt even if many girls do not take a liking to him. He found that one successful way to get girls interested was to keep his grades up in school and train everyday. Darius tries his hardest to complete both these tasks in order to get a girl. This is what makes him shallow, as he takes the first one who wants him back. Darius is also completely oblivious to the fact that a lot of his girlfriends tend to use him.
Darius believes that the games are a wonderful thing. He was brought up to one day possibly fight in them himself. It seems like the perfect way to keep the poor districts in line in his mind. He is completely oblivious to the type of cruelties the others have faced in their lifetime.
Most people see Darius as a clueless, shallow guy. He only does some of his actions to get something he wants. No matter what the consequences would turn out to be. This helps to portray a bad image of him. His parents would never believe that if you told them though. To them he is one the most perfect career children in the district.

His parents have enlisted both of their children in the training programs the districts offer. For as long as Darius can remember he's been training to fight in the games. He believes that this is the only way to properly raise your children.
Darius did have a training accident when he was about fourteen years of age. He had been getting cocky with his trainer causing the man to get a bit rough him. One of Darius's attempts to block the sword being swung at him caused the other mans blade to slide down his own. The blade proceeded to slice off his left ear, and in the draw back leave a gash along Darius's nose. This incident has left Darius partially deaf, and unfit for being a true career.
Darius is quite the family man if he isn't trying to impress other people. His family has always been supportive of him during his training sessions and would not allow him to slack off. They pushed him even after he had lost his ear. Reasons like that are why he is grateful of their company.
